Not sure if I like this. Hope it doesn't cause Giannis to demand a trade.

If anything, I think it would have the opposite effect. The Bucks around Giannis (and Giannis himself, though the guy was playing hurt) didnโ€™t perform, and Bud didnโ€™t make the kinds of adjustments needed to set the team up for success. He was constantly being outcoached.

Giannis wants to win more championships. This is the first step by team management that theyโ€™re not going to just sit by and watch this team fade. Theyโ€™re going to aggressively pursue ways to improve the Bucks and give them the best chance to win it all again, and soon.

I could be completely wrong, but based on what Iโ€™ve heard from Giannis over the last few years, the team is matching his commitment to winning. And Iโ€™m certain that Giannis was made aware of the decision before it happened.

I could see this working for Phoenix. This plus running the offense through Durant as opposed to his being the third option.

@wojespn:  Mike Budenholzer is emerging as the frontrunner to become the Phoenix Sunsโ€™ next coach, sources tell ESPN.

Bud's whole defensive system is based on a having a big guy who can protect the rim and having floor spacers. Nurkic, their starting center, is a terrible 3-point shooter, and a poor defender.

He needs someone like Lopez. It would seem like a good opportunity for the Bucks to move Lopez and get younger (and maybe get a good perimeter defender back in return), but the Suns have even fewer assets than the Bucks in terms of draft picks and young players.

I don't think the combo of Durant, Booker, and Beal really works. They are all isolation scorers. Maybe they can flip Beal to a third team that needs offense so they can then send someone useful to the Bucks, so Lopez can go help Bud in Phoenix?

If Iโ€™m Bud I would want nothing to do with that team.

Matt Ishbia seems like the NBA version of Jerry Jones or David Tepper.  A guy that thinks he knows best about how to build a roster simply because heโ€™s the owner.

Ishbia is on record saying that 26 out of 29 GMs in the league would trade their whole team for the Suns whole team.  Thatโ€™s fucking lunacy.

Bradley Beal is washed up and he canโ€™t stay healthy.   On top of that, heโ€™s not a true PG and basically plays a similar role to Devin Booker, who might be a gifted athlete and scorer but heโ€™s no winner.  Then thereโ€™s the mercurial Kevin Durant.  A star player who might have the worst leadership characteristics I can think of over the last 30 years in the NBA.

Not to mention they have no bench or size in the frontcourt.

Bud would be their 3rd head coach in basically a year and a half.  Good luck with that!!

Who are the 3 teams that wouldn't??

Milwaukee, Boston and Denver?? Because I can add at least 4 more.....

OKC & Minnesota & Dallas & NY Knicks

Dudes a complete moronic jagoff saying that shit.

It was literally one of the dumbest comments Iโ€™ve heard.  Milwaukee, Boston, Denver, Minnesota, OKC, Dallas, NYK, Sixers, Orlando and maybe the Cavs and New Orleans as well just for starters would not trade the Suns for their rosters.

I mean, if youโ€™re the Wizards or Hornets sure.  Probably 8-10 other teams.

The Suns canโ€™t really do a whole lot to improve their roster.  They are in worst shape than the Bucks.  Basically no picks and two aging former superstars that wonโ€™t stay healthy.  And Beal has a no trade clause.

To me, Booker is probably a guy you could trade and get back some decent picks and pieces in return.
