For us older Brewer fans, George "The Boomer" Scott is now playing 1st base around that big ball diamond in the sky.  He was a fan fave.

per JSOnline

George "Boomer" Scott, the burly first baseman known for his slick fielding and power during a career that included five seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers, has passed away in Greenville, Miss. He was 69.

I saw him play many a game at County Stadium.

If I remember correctly, he referred to his HRs at "taters" and had a glove he referred to as "black beauty".  Not really sure how to verify that, just what I remember.

Still, a great trade to get Cooper for him and Bernie Carbo.  The outfielders had such great names in those days: Sixto Lezcano, Ben Oglivie, etc.

Seems like forever since the Brew Crew had a Golden Glove winner.  Unbelievable that he had so many.
