He's had a couple shots and I'm really skeptical that Reggie would go in that direction.
Funny, he never crossed my mind as a possibility. Makes sense however. Wonder if Dom wants to get into that fire again? Plus, he would be classified as a retread.
I don't see it happening either, and I think it would be a lousy first decision by Reggie. They need new blood.
Not going to happen.
Reggie knows the template - hire an offensive QB-minded HC.

Wade Phillips has declined interviews. Let's hope Dom does the same. He is not a young man any longer and may not have the drive it takes to completely rebuild a team, which is what Reggie wants to do.
Keep in mind that Dom has built two expansion teams from scratch. Reggie may think the renovation project is that extensive. Lots of deadwood in Raider-land.

Doesn't say much about McKenzie as a GM right off the bat. Capers is LeBeau, stay with what you know and do well.

I agree with this right here. But ...
I also agree about the Template in regards to defense ... if I couldn't get Capers to come be my DC, I'd get a disciple.

You mean like Tom Clements? You never know....
I think McKenzie hires Moss and they bring in Clements as OC. Then they push hard in FA for Flynn.
Raiders can have Winston Moss, but GB should tag Clements and keep him one more year
would expect Perry to go with Moss if he end up leaving as well.
If Moss is hired, that would free up the Packers "Assistant Head Coach" designation, and they could hit either Clements or Perry with that title and keep one of them.

That's an interesting theory about Flynn. Is it possible, that McKenzie and TT have had discussions about Flynn and possible trade scenariois? Would McKenzie (knowing the inside and out) of the GB organization, and Flynn push a hard bargain, or would it be a friendlier trade for both teams?
Flynn will be an UFA... trade not an option.
It won't be a trade unless the Packers can get Finley signed first

You owe me a bottle of single malt.
There's been all this talk about what to do with Flynn. Some have suggested a Tag/Trade situation, but all parties would have to be on the same page. McKenzie knows the situation, and so does TT, then it is just informing and getting buy-in from Flynn? I'm not saying this woule be easy, but having McKenzie in a management position would seem to be a good thing for TT, IF the possibility of a Tag/Trade exisits?
All fine and well, but the Raiders don't have any draft picks until 2025.
McKenzie has nothing to trade... Thompson likes picks and the Raiders have (essentially) none.
I would not be surprised to see McKenzie trade quite a few players trying to get some picks back.

Not to be a wiseass here but exactly where does the Packers defense rank this year under Capers? last I heard they were not performing like a Super Bowl defending champion defense is expected to after a playing so good last year, dont tell me that losing one very good defensive lineman to the Eagles is the reason they sank like a rock in total defense this year, blame always starts at the top and works down,a million dollar raise? not if TT sees what we all see every game.
McCarthy's offense in SF was dead last when he was hired as head coach... Therefore Capers's defense this year projects him as a likely Super Bowl winning coach.

Don't underestimate the loss of Nick Collins in the Secondary. Losing an All-Pro Safety will definitely hurt your D.
Flynn to Oakland for Kamerion Wimbley.

We also lost Collins early in the year, but your point is valid.....something's very different about the way the Pack is playing D this year as opposed to last year.
Sorry PackerRuss,
didn't see your post there.

I think all the replacements last year had something to do with it. It's a hidden advantage the D had with all those injuries. Sounds crazy but here's my two cents: opposing OC's had a tougher time gameplanning for our D because of the consistent presence of new faces. It's tough to gameplan for guys you don't have tape on (new guys in a new D) and can't recognizes tendencies for - kind of like the rookie splash effect. It's another reason guys like Walden and Green have settled back down to their average this year. They performed very well in spot duty and they and their coaches deserve tons of praise for it. But now that OC's have enough film to start picking them apart, they are.
I agree that losing Collins and Jenkins are the biggest reason but not the only reason. It also doesn't help to have the SB target on your back every week.

I know you're being funny but FYI, I'm the one that manually approves all new registrations. Carry on....

I'll buy that...it makes sense to me.
And thanks for the welcome, guys. Rest assured, I'm not an alias. Just a Packers fan who's excited about being in the playoffs again!!

Capers comment on facing the Vagiants the 2nd time around:
Dom Capers' eyes twinkled when he heard the question.
"What did I learn?" he said, repeating a reporter's question about the previous meeting between the Packers and the Giants. "I learned you can't give up big plays. They've got big-play people. They have those kinds of capabilities with their people. We had three balls go over the top of us and all three led to points."

tick tock....tick tock....tick tock.....
Exactly
I wonder how serious McKenzie would be as far as Capers for HC. I wonder if McKenzie would interview Capers as a favor to raise Capers' profile, similarly to how TT interviewed Wade Phillips.
