Carmelo is still the same guy he always was. They bring him back in and the Blazers go iso and fall behind. He'll get his points, the announcers will gush over him, and his team will lose more than they should.

Do what is the deal with Melo having beef with Giannis? And why isn’t Giannis going right back at him?

Because Giannis is so far above all that bullshit.

When you're the MVP, you don't entertain lesser players trying to get under your skin

Brook Lopez making a definite case for All NBA defense team this year. He’s also starting to get dialed in from deep.

Bledsoe has been All Star level since Middleton’s injury.

Connaughton has been very good the last couple games.

Bucks were huge on the offensive boards tonight.

DD with another really solid game.   Bledsoe too.

There are just so many weapons and options on this team and that’s not including our so called second best player (Middleton) being hurt.

I don’t want to sound cocky but they are 12-3 playing through one of the more difficult parts of their schedule and haven’t as a team played as good as they can be.  That should be scary for the rest of the East.

I want Giannis to go MJ on his ass... it’s not getting under skin, it’s showing him who’s dominant. And there’s a history, there, too. Melo has gone after Giannis when he was younger.

We are the point with this team that nothing means that much until the second round of the playoffs. It's a good place to be as a fan knowing that the team is, as long as Giannis is healthy, at worst a 3 or 4 seed and likely higher than that.

It's Bucks, Celtics, Sixers, and Heat. It will come down to individual matchups.

Giannis vs. the wall of Horford/Simmons/Embiid.

Giannis vs. Marcus Smart (supposedly a Giannis stopper according to the East Coast media).

Embiid vs. the Lopez twins.

Jayson Tatum vs. Middleton. Kemba Walker vs. Bledsoe.

Jimmy Butler vs. Middleton.

I think saying that “this team at worst is a 3-4 seed” is way underselling what they are and what are doing. This team has one mission, sure- but getting there are several steps that must be achieved to accomplish it, and one of those steps is the establishment of this team as the top seed in the playoffs. Home court. This ain’t the “Lebron coast to the 3 seed and then destroy everyone”... they aren’t built for that. They need home court and they need the boost that brings.

Giannis is yet an unfinished product. He’s getting there, and the numbers bear this out, but he’s not able to take over without being in danger of 5 offensive fouls in a game. Whole defenses are sitting, waiting to draw a charge. And until he has something to go to that makes these flopping clowns pay for sitting there waiting for him as effective defense, he’s going to go through stretches like this week. Last night he was struggling, and he needs to go through 82 of those to learn how to beat it.

Giannis at 32 min/game is just fine. Keep the run going... but they need to play defense better than the last 2 games. Too many floaters, too many open 3s.
