Man, the slipper is off of Pittsburgh’s foot. They closed April with a 20-9 record.

They’re 2-11 in May, and have scored a grand total of 20 runs in those 13 games.

They’ve been shut out three times, and have scored one run in a game four times.

Ouch.

The only run Williams has given up was a HR against the Giants when he came in with a 7-2 lead just to get some work.

Weird stat of the game, the Brewers used 6 pitchers and each one of them recorded either 4 or 5 outs.

that was a great bounce back game for them.  That last line drive hit to center, you could almost sense the deflation from the team.  They (mostly Williams) deserves credit for not losing composure.

Wainwright is a scratch. Cards starting Matt Liberatore instead. He is a lefty.  Yelich is also a scratch, nothing official from the Brewers but it is reported he has back tightness again.  Line up is  Miller, Contreras, Adames, Ruf, Anderson, Taylor, Caratini, Wiemer, Truang.

Yelich in May (48 at bats): 333, 4 HRS, 12 RBIs in 13 games.

396 OBP

604 SLG

1000 OPS

And then, back flares up again.

Yeli's back got hurt from the double error play last Sunday where he stole second and ended up scoring. WTH.
