Celtics challenge on a Giannis and-1 in which Smart stepped in front of him (or under him depending on your perspective).

Overrule means it's Giannis' 4th and the Bucks are down 10. If the call stands, Bucks down 7 or 8 and it's Smart's 3rd.

For those conspiracy theorists, this is an opportunity for the NBA to skew towards a close game or a Celtics' win.

Bucks out-score Boston 70-51 in the second half. As soon as they started executing on offense, the rebounding deficit went away, their lead disappeared, the Boston shooting % plummeted… they were really struggling to execute anything in the first half. The Bucks finish the final 5:13 on a 21-4 run.

It’s interesting to watch Jaylen Brown- he had 14 points in the first quarter. Finished with 25. I like him a lot as a player- 2-way guy, better offensive game than is given credit for, high level athlete. But he goes from white-hot to practically a non-factor down the stretch.

They run everything through Tatum in crunch time. I read somewhere that the scouting report on him is that he's a great player, but that he's happier after a loss where he scores 40 than after a win where he scores 20. When it comes to crunch time, it affects his shot selection and the other guys tend to stand around and watch him.

It would be like if Giannis refused to pass to Middleton in crunch time.

What I thought was interesting is in the final few minutes they had Giannis, Middleton, Holiday, Matthews, and Hill.  Hill was playing defense on Tatum on the play where Holiday stripped him.

in crunch time, that’s a really good defensive lineup.  They basically stoned the Celtics in the final minutes.  If not for a horrible call on Holiday and 2 FTs by Brown they would have held them scoreless the final several minutes.

The lineups were definitely something to pay attention to. I think DD is going to start. I think they’re realizing that Allen as a defender against good teams is going to get iso’ed and it’s a weak point. DD back in the starting lineup will be better over the long haul, giving the Bucks some actual shooting and playmaking on the second unit. Portis also coming off the bench again, and I think for the same reason- against top bigs or more athletic teams he’s overmatched. Moving him back to the second unit will be a similar effect- scoring and some offensive rebounding for the second unit. Not convinced Boogie will hold up as a starter for very long. Not for big minutes.
