Started terrible but a TO by Budd righted the ship.
Close game so far. 35-35. Boston has sufficiently straightened their ties & came to play tonight.

53-47 Bucks at the half....good first half by both teams. Horford came to play tonight. 2 blocks on Brogdon.
Just keep hitting the 3's boys & the Celtics will fall
Kyrie Irving's situation is going to kill Boston in the long run, but will win them a few games in the short term.
Neither team can shoot this quarter. 3 for 22
And Middleton falls down trying to isolate and then Bledsoe throws one away.
Tie game. Giannis misses both FTs, Kyrie hits a 3 and Middleton with yet another turnover.
Mirotic with the first of what I hope will be many 3s.
Bucks with 12 turnovers so far. Completely sloppy but I guess a tad rusty after the AS break.
Still up 64-58 with 3:33 left in 3rd Q
Kyrie Irving just got a call on contact by Snell that Giannis could get 4 times a possession.
Up 72-68 after 3.
...and Snell JUST missed that 3/4 court shot at end of 3. Damn that would have gotten Fiserv rockin!

It's a good sign that the Bucks are struggling on offense and still up.
Dumb foul on Ilya there
Bucks up by 8 to open 4th Q. YES! Keep Giannis on the bench!
Block by Giannis!! That was impressive saving the easy 2.
It would help if someone can make a jump shot though. Celtics cut it to 2
Down to 2. Bledsoe is 1 for 8 tonight. He has played great defense on Irving, but he has done nothing on offense.
Marcus Smart fouls Giannis about 4 times that possession and then acts surprised when they finally call the 3rd hack,
Middleton, Brogdon, and Bledsoe have really struggled down the stretch.
Brogdon with a clutch shot
I sometimes bash Middleton, but he seems to hit those kinds of shots a lot in games 'where he's shot 5 for 13 before the clutch shot.
Clutch 3 by Middleton!
That was not a shot clock violation. The refs blew that call.
Come on defense. This would be a disappointing loss, but it's only one game.
Classic NBA bullshit to end a game.

How can that be a shot clock violation if Lopez never possessed the ball?
Bucks have a foul to give.

Classic to favor a team like the Celtics also.
Surprised that Kyrie didn't get bailed out on that.
**** yes!!!!! Bucks deserve to win this game & they did.....
Everyone exhale now.
Bucks got away with one tonight. They got way too sloppy with the call, including in the final offensive sequence where the jump ball happened. 16 turnovers.
That said, Middleton hitting that 3 was monsterous. Giannis with another MVP performance, and that chase down block was unreal. Mirotic was a little rusty, but man... he sure fits on this team.
I want to see the official NBA explanation on that 24 second violation. If the shot clock doesn't start until Lopez touches it, there is no way that is a shot clock violation. How is that not reviewable?
I don't know if the shot clock is supposed to start when Giannis tips the ball or not. If so, then it's obviously a shot clock violation.
When you pass the ball in from the side court the clock doesn't start until another player touches it. Does the same rule apply here? Like Giannis tip is a "pass" then the clock starts when Lopez touches the ball? If that's the case then the shot clock should reset when the ball touches the rim. Yes??
Obviously a rare scenario but thankfully the Bucks won. A lot of turnovers & we all know they can play better but they deserved to win that game.

Miller and Harlan seemed to be confused about it as well. I'd say your interpretation of it being like a pass from OOB would be relevant.
Section IIโStarting and Stopping of Shot Clock
The shot clock will start when a team gains new possession of a ball which is in play.
On a throw-in, the shot clock shall start when the ball is legally touched on the court by a player.
Following a jump ball or missed free throw, the shot clock shall start when new possession is obtained.

Hard to believe, but the cock whore NBA refs got the call wrong.

Thanks for posting that. I thought they got the call right at first - I thought when Giannis touched it the shot clock started but your post cleared that up. The refs got it wrong.
Assuming the refs understood the rule, I cannot see how they could have called it wrong. Clock should have started when Lopez (I think it was Lopez) tried to put the ball in and it bounced off the rim at which point it resets to 24s.

Call me a wet blanket...but by hitting the rim with his hand, doesn't that become a goaltend?
Not when it goes our way

I donโt know which way youโd call it. Tatums hand also hits the rim after he loses possession of the ball.
