Probably the last time he sets foot on Lambeau Field as a player. Talk about two entities that needed each other.

White House on 3. No question true fans honor a great Packer.

Thanks Charles.

Guys like Woodson should make it clear to everyone that Packer fans understand when a player goes to a different team.  That's part of the business.  But it's HOW they leave that makes all the difference.

But that's part of HOW he left the team.  It's not that he played for the Vikings.  It's that he WANTED to play for the Vikings.  He was apparently focused on playing for them even before he left specifically so he could stick it to the Packers.

He should've challenged the defense before the playoff game to make a freakin' stop.

The biggest factor in that playoff game was the death of Philbin's son. These guys are human - there is no way that didn't affect them -especially the offensive guys who spend 8-10 hours a day with him.

Seriously, you can't be a better football player than that list.

Top 10 all time in INT's - 62

Top 5 all time in non-offensive TD's - 13

This blew me away. The closest active defensive player on the career INT list after Woodson's 62 is DeAngelo Hall with 43 career INT's.

Football player.

Former Packer Will Blackmon just tweeted this out when some folks challenged Mike Freeman's comment.

Plus this in 2009:

Charles Woodson, former University of Michigan football standout and 1997 Heisman trophy winner, has made a gift of $2 million to the new University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital. The new hospital is scheduled to open in the fall of 2012.

Woodson's gift to the new U-M C.S. Mott Children's Hospital will support groundbreaking pediatric research by funding The Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund. The fund will advance the work of researchers doing early-stage work to help children with life-threatening illnesses that include cancer, heart disease, kidney disorders and autism.

In addition, the gift will support the construction of the new U-M C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital, where the lobby will be named in his honor.

"My reason for working so hard has always been to be a part of something great," says Woodson, who recently spent time visiting sick children at Mott. "My gift to Mott is so that I can be part of the great things that are happening there, and so that I can help aspiring young doctors do their own outstanding work to help children."

When he picked off Cutler again, I couldn't contain my laughter.

We'll never have another player like Charles Woodson on the Packers.

Yes, he's the best football player I've ever seen.

One of the best parts about it is, much like Reggie, he came to GB to find his true glory. Raider fans can claim him as a Raider, like Eagle fans do with White, but both had to leave those teams to get the coveted ring, the cherry on top of the stellar career. Chuck was and is still such a pleasure to watch on the football field.

Agree 10000% on Chuck Wood.

I wonder what would have happened, if the Packers didn't have a strong coach in MM, when Wood came in.  The balls it took for MM to knock C Wood down a bit, is incredible, but in the end, it made both men and the team that much better.

What really blew me way?  He's still behind Darren Sharper.

True. Living in the DC suburbs, I saw LT totally run roughshod against the Hogs, no slouches they. Joe Gibbs basically invented the H-Back position using a TE in order to help contain Taylor.

Having said that Reggie's stretch with the Eagles was as good or better than anything LT put up. Truth be known Reggie was already starting the downside of his career when he came to GB. That he remained so dominant is a tribute to how good he was earlier in his career.

If you like smash mouth football it didn't get much better than the mid-to-late 1980s NFC East.

Yeah, I remember he was up there. When they were doing the reverse countdown on the network and Reggie was named, I knew LT would be the last defender. Can't pick Taylor ahead of Unitas (which the Top 100 did), though -- Johnny basically is the template for the modern NFL pocket, passing quarterback.

IIRC Dick Butkus was in the top 10 also, also deserved.

Needs one more pick 6 to tie...Rod Woodson for all time lead in the NFL for INT TDs

Sir Charles had 24 INTs in 11 years in Oakland.... and 38 INTs in 7 years in GB

forced 32 fumbles in his career, not including the one they stole from him on the Tuck Rule
