Artist who famously wrapped Berlin's Reichstag in Mylar dies aged 84
Christo and his wife Jean-Claude's (she died in 2009) other ephemeral collaborations included a series of thousands of gates in New York's Central Park, wrapping the coastline of several islands in Miami's Biscayne Bay, and a series of killer umbrellas in California and Japan.
Christo had one more big work planned, wrapping the Arc de Triomphe in Paris; that's still schedule to go ahead in September 2021.
The obituaries mention no cause of death, but I assume it wasn't one of those killer umbrellas falling on him.
