Christ. Even talking about offensive football with that franchise can only have damaging effects on Saturday's game.
hafta admit this interviewing while we're still working on a championship stuff pisses me off. I don't know how to fix it but I would prefer coaches of teams still in the hunt be off limits. but then successful playoff coaches miss out on the opportunities to advance themselves.
no hiring until after the SB wouldn't seem to work out very well either...

I fully support Mike Singletary for head coach in Chicago
Not me. He'll energize the city & team just like Ditka did when he got there.
I agree Shoeless, and now that he has a little head coaching experience under his belt, the Bears could be formidable in the future.

They're interviewing EVERYONE. Heck, I'm interviewing tomorrow at 3:00.
It's the Bears. It doesn't matter who their coach is - their franchise is completely incapable of finding a superstar QB and in today's NFL, that means losing the Super Bowl is pretty much the best they can hope for.

I'm in at 4:30. We should meet for dinner. Note I was recommended by veteran QB backup Jason Campbell.
I like Clements. I just don't like him as OC.
Rusty, you could be OC and after a while MM would make the necessary adjustments and have that ship heading north.
60 years old. Has never been offered a HCing gig. As good as the Packers offense is there's also no argument that the offense (when comparing to 2011) has regressed.
Stranger things have happened and it is the Bears but I'd be rather surprised if he gets the offer.

Jerry is ready.

Single bunch formation, reverse flea flicker, upgrade the Shotgun formation to the Bazooka formation (Quarterback stands 30 yards behind LOS), and linemen line up backwards.
Coaching jeenyus right here.
I remember Hank Stram lining up Otis Taylor at guard and sending him out on a pass pattern when it was legal. Now there was an offensive jeenyus!!
60 years old is just a kid in today's game.
Jerry Jones is busy courting 72 year old Monte Kiffin as their defensive coordinator.

That.is.hilarious.
But true.
Vagina needs QB school.
Meh. I don't think it's a surprise to MM or TT, and Clements had to be prepared to interview. I'm sure he took care of his responsibilities to the Packers first and foremost.
Good, bad, or otherwise, I always support the assistant coaches having and taking advantage of opportunities to move up. It's a sign of a good coach, IMO.
I'm a bit surprised Clements isn't more in demand, especially by the teams that have been notoriously weak at QB...like the Bears. I sure wouldn't want him going to a divisional rival. Cough, cough, *Darrell Bevell*, cough.

Problem is Tom Clements is a very good assistant/specialist but I don't think he's HC material and borderline OC material.
I think this interview was more about a fishing expedition to pick his brain about Cutler and get some insight into what a division opponent thinks about their roster and how to best utilize it.

That happened to Jon Fox when he was the Giants DC on their way to SB 35 after the 2000 season.
The media ignored Fox and only talked about the other SB team's DC (Marvin Lewis) because that allowed them to play the race card.

Agree. You get the sense MM felt obligated to promote Clements. Just a hunch, but I bet he'd prefer McAdoo.
More likely it was the fact that that Ravens defense was one of the best ever to take the field.quote:Originally posted by Fedya:
