That game would have been a whole lot different with Hawk exposed against...
It makes sense to have Barrington in there instead of Hawk, it seems as though he's a stronger tackler and generally more physical, but I am actually surprised it actually happened. I want Barrington to work out because he seems like the kind of physical thumper that we are sorely missing, but his play this season has been erratic. I like what he did against NE though, I hope he follows it up with a strong end of the season and postseason. And really I'm okay with guys making the occasional mistake, no player has a perfect game (except Rodgers vs. Atlanta in 2010 playoffs), but they need to also make as many, if not more, impact plays. Barrington had more impact plays than mistakes against NE, I hope he keeps it up.
Question that struck me is why does Barrington seemingly take it to another level when it isn't Hawk he's lined up next to? He was playing some inspired football yesterday. Maybe it's coincidence but it made me think twice.
I can't believe the Defense wasn't tripping all over each other and completely lost with out the defensive QB out their telling them where to line up.
Remember that video on Packers.com that highlighted Hawk shifting the line to compensate for a 3rd tackle on the strong side? No way Barington can diagnose that!
So who wears the green dot when Hawk is on the sideline?
I think Burnett.
I would think the transmission goes directly to Belicheat .
