I think Randall Cobb only scratched the surface last year with his 954yds and 8TDs.  I was impressed last year with his pass catching ability, can recall many drops.  I expect to see him line up just about everywhere this year, of course mostly the slot.

1,350 yards and 12TDs is what my crystal ball says

Jennings led GB in TD's in 2010. Jordy in 2011. Jones in 2012. I'm not sure there's a team that throws as many TD's as GB has over the past 3 years that's had 3 different guys lead in TD receptions. It could very easily be Cobb this year. That's the beauty of Ted and Aaron. You can't cover everyone. And all ours will beat your decision to play single coverage.

If the OL re-work gels and GB starts running the ball and Quarless is fully healed...

It's the best offense in football. The IF the OL re-work gels is the wildcard. It's always about the lines.

Besides distributing the ball ridiculously well, one other wrench that could bring Cobb's (or any other wide out) numbers down a little is if GB finally gets a real running game. Every bit as important as the OL performance will be MM's commitment to RTFB!!!!!

If GB's got a decent running game going, it'll be interesting to see how much MM will actually stick with it.

..my guess is that he will stick with it until defenses adjust to stop it. AR has ability to call pass or run depending on the look the defense gives. Frustrating thing about last season was that defenses were playing "pass" on almost every down but we could not exploit it enough to make them commit more defenders to stopping the run. IMHO MM & TT realize this & as a result almost every move made this offseason was done with this in mind. It is a copy-cat league & DC's(with the exception of Wade Phillips!) are playing us like the Giants did in the 2011 season playoff game, disregarding play action. Until we can really hurt teams by running the ball, they are not going to change.

MM is always going to be a pass-first coach and the only thing I see a revitalized running game doing is opening up the passing game for the big play, which were down significantly last year. Don't see the 100 catch season that AR and others are talking about, but I expect him to have a big year.

Benson getting hurt really put a damper on our run game last year. He was getting a lot of work the first 3 games (55 carries) so I believe MM will stick with the run if it's working. We've seen him stick with it before. I love having a 7 point lead, then needing the "4-minute offense" to kill the clock & successfully executing it especially when the defense knows it's coming. It's demoralizing.

If we are behind, you can expect MM to pass the ball....a LOT!

Back to Cobb. He'll be one of the guys that helps us get a lead. Hopefully our run game can finish off the opposition once we have that lead.

I'll wait for the injuries to start hitting before I make any more assumptions.

Using firefox and cleaned computer - things work great now - thanks Boris for your advice.

I left my stat info at work, but Benson's 55 carries in 3 games was only 18.3 carries per game.  That is a nominal amount of work.  Benson was only getting about 3.2 y/c - not as good as you'd like.  The inability of of any GB RB to stay healthy last year until Harris showed up also hampered things.  As far as frequency of running the ball, GB ran the ball just a little over 42% of their offensive plays.  And there were 4 games last year where GB ran the ball more than they passed it - ok, it was only a carry or two more, but it was more.  But it was Harris who was durable and had 4.2 y/c that made a difference.  If Lacy, Franklin, and Harris can show they are durable and effective this preseason - and can pick up the playbook and blitzes - my bet is that the often injured Green and Starks are gone.  And in the process, the GB offense gets one thing they have lacked - a RB who can pick up 3rd & 1 (assuming that is Lacy).

The only flaw I see in Cobb's game is that he does have some dropsies. 12 is going to out it in there- gotta catch it. That might be the main thing this crew misses with Jenjings- great hands, case in point the SB. When 12 sticks it through the eye of a needle, you better bring it home. Jones really stepped forward on this. Jordy and Cobb need to as well.

You would think they would be trying to feature Cobb more - it seems like that's what they want to do because of his skills after the catch.   With no Jennings and if they can find other return guys I think that's a safe bet.

Just saw Cobb on NFL Network after practice doing a piece on getting separation from DB's , presented himself very well, as with this interview: http://www.packers.com/media-c...89-ae71-6e6e965b6180

kid impresses more & more, intelligent, articulate, and athletic. As others have speculated, I'm thinking he has a big season!

wouldn't surprise me if jones leads the team in tds this year too.  he'll be a forgotten man again with jordy drawing a lot of attention, cobb underneath and finley in the middle.  i'm very high on cobb to take over jennings like numbers from years past, but jones is looking like the anquan boldin type of player i thought he could be when he was drafted.
