I know it's Cowherd and no one likes him, but did anyone else hear him today??  He said that he had heard something about A-12's ego being to big last year, and that A-12's body language was loud and clear there's no love between them.   I've never heard that.   I just hate when the Packers lose, it's like I can't listen to sports at all.....I thought today's talk was going to be about the Giants or San Fran.....not A-12's relationship with MM.  *sigh*

Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy have heated exchange - NFL.com

Ok, I feel better:

Rodgers confirmed that play-calling was the issue, but said: "Yeah, I'm going to leave that between Mike and I."

"We're both competitive," Rodgers said. "I think we were both frustrated all day. We couldn't have a lot of success in the red zone, kicked way too many field goals and turned the ball over."

Bottom line: Sideline exchanges between a coach and his quarterback are commonplace. Rodgers and McCarthy have been through the wars; they'll be fine. Still, the bye week has come at the right time for a frustrated Packers team.

Ok, it's now bring on the Lions.         I feel better already.

I would dare say it shows some leadership to call out your coach when he obviously has his head completely up his own posterior.

For a guy that loves to throw 40 yard bombs on 3rd and 1, why in the world can't he grow a pair and do a play action on key 4th and 1's during the season?

Pick up the phone and ask Bart how to do it...whatever...grow a pair MM, and quit being a tilted hat, robotic, predictable azz clown.

There, I feel better.

I'll admit it.. I think Rodgers ego is starting to become an issue.

It's been becoming increasingly apparent since the SuperBowl.  It's just the body language of him and his teammates.  The fact that DD, a guy I respect more than any other Packer in the modern era, said something about it as well.   Now the arguing play calling with MM.

It's not concrete evidence, but it's enough to lead me to believe it's an issue.  I understand it's part of what makes him such a great QB though, so take the good with the bad.

Of course Rodgers has a big ego, what star NFL player doesn't? How many outbursts have we seen from Rodgers in 8 years? I can think of maybe 3 including this one. How many outbursts have Tom Brady and Peyton Manning had in their careers? Probably just as many if not more. You think Joe Montana and Bill Walsh agreed 100% all the time?

Rodgers and McCarthy won't always agree. If this was Rodgers 1st or 2nd year, I would be concerned. Rodgers is in his 8th year, has complete command of the offense, and is absolutely proven. He's earned the right to have input or to voice his opinion. Should both men have handled themselves a little more professionally? Definitely, but I doubt they're even thinking about it anymore.

Well, ESPN has decided that this year the narrative is that Aaron Rodgers is becoming a egomaniac that is a poor leader and his team doesn't like him.  So, it's going to prop up any and all aspects of anything that could possibly support their narrative.

Instead of worrying about whether or not AR and MM love each other, a better idea is to STOP WATCHING OR LISTENING TO ESPN.

Spent a couple of days in Austin last week on business. Went to Torchy's for breakfast Tacos. It's an absolute travesty the rest of the world is missing out on this every morning.

Oh yeah, Cowherd's an idiot.

Sure would make it easier for Packer fans to accept Croc-Boy back into the fold and make all that Hall of Fame hoopla viable in the near future wouldn't it?

goodell up to no good again?

The Packers have been incredibly successful over the past 5 seasons. They win at a .700 clip. With that success comes expectation. From the team and the media. And when a game like yesterday breaks the way is does the snap reaction is to find a reason what's wrong with the team.

It's got to be a bitch to be a Packer and shoulder that expectation every single week. You have to win or expect to be heavily scrutinized as to why you didn't. I have to imagine carrying that added pressure is going to fray some nerves eventually. AR carries more of that burden than anyone on the team. I get why he reacts the way he does at times. He wants to win. But he probably hates the scrutiny when he doesn't as much if not more.

There's nothing wrong with this team. We've been down this road before. I'm glad we have a team that expects to win. I know for a fact if GB started 3-0 there would be hand wringing on this site that they are peaking too early. Lot's of football left.

Next time visit Maria's Taco Xpress.

It's to be expected that as a QB plays longer and has success, he may not want to simply run every play called into him, but might want to have input.  No different here.  Didn't Tom Brady and the OC in New England almost come to blows on the sidelines a year or so ago after a failed offensive series?  And, we won't even begin to touch Payton Manning and how he reacts to plays called in.

From all accounts Dan Marino was a complete jag.   Same thing with John Elway.  I think to some extent a lot of great athletes have that ego to give them an edge.

I didn't care for ARs antics either but frankly his throws and decision making pissed me off a lot more.  Then again, Brent used to have 3 of those kind of games every year including some playoff games.  I can count on one hand how many crappy games Rodgers has had and yesterday was one of them.

Maybe we are just too damn spoiled.  We could have Ponder!!

We get it, you're an awesome play caller and a bootleg on the 4th and short would have been the mostest awesomest call in the history of football. We. Get. It.

================

You have to love it when somebody thinks they "get it", declares it sarcastically but then shows they don't get it.

Always one in every crowd I guess.

Uhm no, a bootleg in that situation is not what I would want, and it's not what I said.

Just a  play action is what I said. Simple and effective.

I said nothing about my play calling abilities, just sharing 40 some years of NFL observation in a forum that I thought was for discussion of such things.

Maybe I'm in the wrong place then, I dunno.

My apologies to the forum.

Over and out.

It's an absolute travesty the rest of the world misses out on a lot of the food they have in Texas.  You can find a great restaurant almost anywhere but their baseline is just at a different level in that state.
