Cleveland has given up, and would do well to get Bridgewater, et al. Yes, they would need a RB, but how many times have we seen a serviceable back come from later rounds? A lot. Indy gets the running threat it needs to give Luck another weapon and a young guy at that who could be quite serviceable for at least five years. Indy comes out ahead, and Cleveland gets what it needs to start the rebuild.

And if Minnesota loses this weekend to Cleveland, there will be a very long line at a Mississippi River bridge...

Mike Silver said numerous teams inquired about Joe Thomas (reported Broncos & I'm assuming Packers too) Banner said, "It's not a fire sale." Doesn't look like they're trading Thomas

Browns covet Texans free-agent-to-be RB Ben Tate. Should Cleveland land Tate, it would have him and Indy's...

The way our latest first rounders have played (being greatly hampered by injury), I would certainly consider trading a first rounder to Cleveland for one of the best left tackles in the game. Joe would be here at least as long as Aaron Rodgers is starting. By doing so, you improve the running game. You improve pass protection. And you protect the franchise.

ROTT has an uncanny ability to find impact players outside the first round, so I don't think it would hinder addressing any need areas in the offseason. So why not go for it? Thomas' talents are being completely wasted in Cleveland. If the Browns are in a generous mood, now's the time to capitalize.

They're not going to let go of Thomas, and if the Packers were going to trade for anything, their best move would be to find a safety to compliment Burnett. A guy like Jairus Byrd could really get the defense going at an elite level. But this is all fantasy anyway, they're not going to make a significant trade. Our hope rests on this roster getting healthy and staying that way.

These guys need a catchy phrase like "Suck for Luck", because they apparently don't understand how to get the #1 draft pick for Bridgewater--Not that I'm complaining about yet another Vikings loss.

Well, I didn't think the Browns would trade Richardson, either.

This is one time Uncle Ted needs to get aggressive. Thomas has been in the league six seasons. Six times he has been a Pro Bowl. He'll be starting the 100th game of his career Sunday, and has never missed a game. He's as good as there is in the game, and you've gotta think he'd love to come back to Wisconsin, and play for a winner.

He's only 29 this December, which is young as far as O-linemen are concerned. The guys we've drafted have not gotten the job done. Aaron is getting killed. He was sacked 51 times last year, and has already been sacked 10 times in 2013. I just don't understand why for once Thompson would not be aggressive in pursuing somebody that could immediately come in and help this team. A couple guys on the team can rework their contracts to free up some money. A first rounder makes this line exponentially better. Thomas and Sitton on the left side..../drool.

Best stat line last night. Alex Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick careers side by side. Absolutely identical in every measurable except for picks. 85 for Ryan against 67 for Alex. Neither is very good at all.

In 2005, Alex was #1 overall pick. Ryan was 250th overall 7th round comp. pick by the Rams.

I'll be fair to Alex Smith and say that he did have some shoulder injury issues there for a few years that didn't help his cause any but he really looked like a bust all the way through 2010.  I thought his career would be cut short, but to his credit he's come back the past 3 years playing much better.  He is no franchise QB to be sure, but I think he's a better player than Fitzpatrick.

Smith takes care of the ball and has some athletic ability that helps him in spots.  He's never going to be an elite QB as he just isn't a great downfield thrower.  I think he's better than a number of QBs out there though as taking care of the ball is a fine art that a lot of guys (i.e. Jay Cutler, etc.) haven't mastered.
