Imo this guy has no credibility to write a column with this slant. I believe he's misinformed as to the play of the DL in a 3-4 scheme. He's claiming that his opinion is correct and those who select ProBowl players is not. Here's his tome;

Relevant Raji

While the Pro Bowl is now considered a universal symbol of inadequacy, certain selections go beyond poor and border on the surreal. In what world can a player as big as B.J. Raji (-3.5) play so poorly for so long and still make the trip? It’s inconceivable to think of a 350lb man as invisible, but despite playing 79% of all defensive snaps, his play is generally undetectable.

In 885 snaps he’s picked up three sacks, one hit, 16 hurries and 13 tackles. Thirteen. One-three. In almost 200 less snaps Brandon Mebane has 37. Thirteen is the same number as the following NFC interior linemen with their snaps in parentheses; Shaun Rodgers (301), Trevor Laws (315), Dan Williams (244), Matt Toeaina (401), Letroy Guion (508).

No doubt we’ll have some comments below about how “he was always double-teamed” or “he was standing up the center so someone else could make a play”. I hope not, because that would be rubbish; complete unadulterated nonsense. The truth is he’s been terrible, but no one with a vote watches enough football to either do the right thing or care. If one of the 50 souls with an All-Pro vote sees fit to waste it on him then they should have it confiscated immediately. If you are interested in what he contributed in this game then there is plenty of footage of him leaning on Detroit linemen and absolutely none of him helping his team

I see pro bowlers Vince Wolfork had 3.5 sacks and Ratliff had 2.
Raji does a great job at the 0 technique. He doesn't always collapse the pocket, he doesn't always make stunning tackles--but the stances against the Chiefs inside the 10, Raji was off the charts. He's very good. imagine Gilbert Brown playing 100% of the snaps without White, Jones, Wilkens---when it happened, it wasn't pretty. Help in the line next year will be a wonderful thing for him and the defense.
Well, his "review" of the game trashes Flynn for the "awful" decision that he made with 1:56 left that had should have been a game ending interception by the Lions. Yet, he falls all over himself praising Stafford.

As I recollect, Stafford threw what should have been a interception returned 97 yards by Bush, except Bush dropped the ball. Not to mention, several of the big catches by Johnson and the Lions last go ahead TD were due to the catches made on bad throws by Stafford. In contrast, I don't recall any catches on throws by Flynn that required extra special effort by Packers receivers.
A much better column could have been written on why Eli Manning was picked over Matthew Stafford for the pro bowl,Stafford has all the stats to prove why he is a more deserving QB but Manning has the name unfortunately. Mad

Flynn was "almost" picked off twice in the game. And was picked off once.

That would have been Staffords 3rd interception if had happened.

No matter where the ball is thrown it is part of the WR job description to make a good effort to come down with it. However, GB was smoked by more than Johnson. Pettigrew, Scheffler, and Young also had very good days. For Young, if he hangs onto one when hitting the ground it's a TD, and if Detroit has a replay in it's pocket he has another TD - as it was he had 2 TDs. From the end zone view looking up field, it looked like Burnett's body was between the official and Young. That may be why he ruled it out. But for a few breaks like that GB would have lost - no matter what Flynn did. The four stops and 3 turn overs by the GB defense are decieving in this case.

Agreed. I think it's a symptom of issues across the line but he definitely doesn't deserve a pro-bowl nod. Pretty sure he isn't horrible considering fan voting is only 1/3rd of the vote. Someone must think this guy is doing something right. He's a good player with a average year.

This... He hasn't played as well as he did last year. I'm not saying he didn't play well this year, but he wasn't spectacular. I'm not talking about stats, I could care less about his tackles, by the way those are not even an official stat because its so subjective, he just hasn't gotten the consistent push he got last year or the impact plays.

He is a good player with superb talent. Just not sure he hasn't taken too many downs off this year.
If his name wasn't B.J Raji and if he wasn't such a high draft pick, what would we be saying about his play this year?
I loved the guy last year as he was collapsing the pocket, getting sacks and a lot more tackles, but this year......he has NOT been good. Maybe we DO miss Cullen that much.
