You frequently hear people suggest the NFL (through their refs) attempts to influence the outcome of games in order to advace teams and get matchups that they prefer for revenue purposes. I personally don't buy it. Nevertheless, I think Green Bay and Chicago fans lose that excuse this week. I'm sure that Goodell & Co. would like nothing more than a Packers-Bears NFC Championship. That would be an epic battle that would result in a ratings bonanza.

So we got that going for us, which is nice...

Time Warner being the a-holes they are I distinctly recall going around to taverns and bars secretly video taping bars who had the game on and were "broadcasting" it without either a license or some sort of fee they or the NFL collected. I wanna say it just involved TW and not bars who had Direct TV.

They also did that for bars in cities where the game was blacked out and the bar via the internet broadcast the game. See here.
