US got a mid-level draw in their group...They avoided Jamaica, Uruguay, Chile and Peru. But they have to play Colombia, Paraguay and Costa Rica.
Looking like they may end up playing Brazil in a quarter final.

Lots of key dudes out for this one for the power countries...I don't blame them for opting out...this was a VERY physical tournament last year.
USA is going to get corn-holed.
Euros this summer as well. Busy summer.
Granted it was mostly developmental guys, but USA looked especially dung-tastic against PR.
Though I will say, Bobby Wood > Jozy at this juncture...the dude plays with aggression Altidore lacks...and he can stay healthy.
Mexico's dream run ends vs. Chile. They are all excited to miss Argentina, but Chile won the whole thing last year. I am thinking 2-0 Sea Bass.
Epic game COL vs PER
PK will decide
Ida v. Messi. Good luck.
Err, UDA. Stupid auto-correct.
And what the he'll happened to Mexico? Eh, I'm not complaining.
Chile embarrassed Mexico on purpose...I am sure because Mexico was talking a ton of $hit and and tried to get dirty with them, and it didn't help Mexico's fans were throwing $hit at Chile after the 3rd goal. Mexico has played garbage teams the last year, and have been able to use their athleticism to out run everyone.
That works vs lesser athletes...but not against teams like Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Argentina.
USA have done everything they can in this tournament...there was no way they were getting past Argentina with our without Messi. So right now the goal will be to not pick up any cards in the match that will preclude players from playing in the 3rd place match...where they will face Colombia again.
That match is winnable...tough, but winnable.
They're not clearing the cards after the QFs?

Close.
Hey, I couldn't predict Mehico would go all surrender monkey on the Sea Bass...also I didn't account their fans would hurl $hit at Chile, thereby pissing them off.
That match shoulda been 10-0
Well, it was 2:0 at half time, so you were half right.
(Unfortunately, I fell asleep during halftime.)
Messi taking his ball and going home (internationally)...
Not sure I blame him...as long as Martino is in charge, they are not winning $hit. No way that match should have even gone to PK.
Having Maradona in charge was no better.
Messi and Ronaldo are both babies. They get to play on all-star teams for their clubs, thanks to the major income inequities inherent in the world of soccer. It is hardly surprising that they win so often on that level.
With their countries, not so much. The talent is a lot more equal and you can see there that, talented as they are, they are still a little overrated.
