The apple still falls in the same place. Right under the tree.
It's in the "fridgid pall" thread

On Harpo Marx's head.
Can we hire him as a consultant?

I found it kinda odd that Nate could not hack it there. I really did expect him to do better.
Everyone expected him to do better. He didn't have Rodgers but he had Wilson and a really good defense. But his decisions were often head-scratchers, and Wilson was just a mess. The true judge will be how the next coach does. If it's someone like Payton, well, Denver could be right back in it next year.

Dream from heaven
No
Hackett's performance as a head coach was as embarrassing as you'll see outside of Urban Meyer. I've never seen a head coach so overmatched. It started with his "all about Russ" mantra that handed over the alpha position on the team to the QB. It continued into a training camp that the local media nicknamed "training glamp" because of a total lack of actual football. No 1 on 1s, no 7 on 7s, and almost no hitting. It was all done in the name of health, only they're the most injured team in the league. Before the season opener, Hackett was asked if he was nervous for his first game as a head coach. His response - "Nervous? No, I've been through plenty of games. It's no big deal" or something to that effect. Total lack of respect for the difficulty of being a head coach. Then the regular season came and his decision making was so poor they brought in a consultant to help him make decisions (Jerry Rosburg). With Hackett struggling so bad, he couldn't put the blame on the players and that lack of accountability permeated through the team, where mistakes became the norm. It was all "sunshine and rainbows" for Hackett and Russ and that became the culture in the locker room, that it was better to look on the bright side than look at the complete disaster the Broncos were. "Just gotta work hard, execute" was all he could say at the press conferences.
Sad to see him fail so miserably because he does seem like a good person. But wow he is not an NFL head coach.
Hackett learned how to be HC from the head BFF. Shocking he failed miserably.
I was listening to 104.3 in Denver…lots of speculation about Payton, Harbaugh and brining back Shanny. To be fair the Shanny talk was shot down quickly but they truly think the other 2 are in play.
I don’t see it. If they want back in there will be better jobs abailable
Lets Ride dipshit talking to footballs on the sidelines. Backup QB scolding the OL for not helping Russya up.
Randum Gregory picking fights on Christmas
The apple hits a bear, who was shitting at the time.

Just the fact that Russ had to deal with those teeth makes him my hero.
Couldn't Hackett coach defense ?
Good luck to the next coach with the bad attitude shitty QB and no draft picks
Called it!!!*

And money problems
No legit head coach would take this job. Russ has been bad. Like really really bad. And he's here through at least 2024 when his dead cap hit drops to $49.6m. Hard to believe he's going to get better as he gets into his late 30's. If a head coach has options, hard to believe they'd pick Russ.
YA must love Russ

It is amazing what enough money can get a legit head coach to do.
Tom Brady will take a paycut to become Broncos head coach so they can afford better assistants and lead Russ to the promised land by calling hand-offs in crucial situations.
He's an even bigger douche than his dad Paul.
Welcome back to the pack
#Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner says the next head coach will report to him, not to GM George Paton. Says Paton will be intimately involved in the search.

Sounds a bit similar to the structure in Green Bay.

Hubris!
Hyperbole
If they actually bring in a good coach the Broncos could be better in a hurry. Get Wilson healthy and an offense that works with the personnel they have, and they could be a solid playoff team.
Their potential top free agents are Dre'Mont Jones and Dalton Risner, and they're neither top-dollar guys. The defense should remain good and a functioning offense would straighten things out in a hurry.
I'm not sure Hackett was any worse than Josh McDaniels, so there could be some AFC West competition for a Head Coach candidate.
GM George Paton: “It's not whether Russ is fixable or not. We do believe he is. We do."
Strong vote of confidence from the GM.
