That’s a really nice win. Get out early, allowed them back in it but both innings they scored could have been much worse, and a couple clutch hits.

That pitch that Kemp was rung up on was just a horrible call. Will take it but don’t blame him for getting tossed.

Win series.

Yeah that pitch was out of the strike zone but I've seen worse pitches called strikes - including one where a pitcher bounced the pitch off home plate & ump called it a strike. Ridiculous.

Can't say magic words to ump 😆

Useless.

It's time.

I really thought he may have turned a corner during last September and the playoffs but he is looking feeble like he did most of last season. Of course it's early but we may see Dubon sooner than we thought…

Much like the Bucks choosing not to extend Jabari Parker, the Brewers decision not to sign Yu Darvish is looking better every day.  Thanks Chicago!

What, you think they should expect more for $126,000,000.00 ??

Heard he gave up 7 walks in 2 2/3 the other day. Ooops.

Really conflicted on him.

I think 6 games is too early to make any definitive decisions.

But, he's also got 1200 ABs and he is what he is. I don't think he will ever hit much more than what he's shown.

But also, what was last month+ of the season last year? A total fluke?  He went .803 OPS from Sept 1 to Oct 1 and then .969 in playoffs.  Decent sample size.

I don't know. I think you gotta give him April and see if anything happens. May 1 and he's back to <.600 OPS and I think then you have to made a hard decision.

(LITERALLY as I'm typing this out he just hit a 3R HR... LOLOL)

Can Hiura play SS?

Been wondering that myself...

He had some pretty concerning elbow issues a couple years back...I doubt they put him into a more demanding throwing position.

I hate him just a tad less right about now...

Still, unless he hits .240, he ain't worth it.

He gives them gold-glove caliber defense up the middle (along with Cain in center) and that somewhat softens the blow of having to play weak defenders (at least at the positions they line up at) like Braun and Moustakas. Still, he has to hit .220 to .240 to not be a total liability on offense, especially in the NL where this means your 8 and 9 hitters are black holes.

Practically forgot (man these games start early in Moutain Time)

Old-fashioned two hour 30 minute contest. Gotta love 8 innings from Peralta on a day Hader not available.

Now....f the Cubs!

Loved today's game listening on the mlb app. Had to go into a work thing with 1 out in the 9th and was preoccupied in my own head the whole time. Man what a performance from Peralta and a great play by Arcia to end it. Arcia is such a tough call. A 10 on D and a ? at the plate. If he was juicing last October I'd encourage him to start up again and take this the risk.
