Crew and Bucs Series

I guess now that I'm going to the Sat game, it will feel like a World Series game. I wonder if they will still serve their $1 dogs and $4 beers, or will they pull that special and raise prices?

 

 

Rob Deer will be there. It's that big. 

Since bobbleheads are given away on Sunday, I'll miss Rob Deer too.

It probably reflects the relative lack of success the Brewers have had that I would consider that game one of the highlights in Brewer history?

 

Other than Cooper's hit to put them ahead in Game 7 of the 1982 ALCS, the hit that allowed them to advance in 2011 against the D-Backs, or the last game of the 1982 regular season, the Deer/Sveum home runs in that game is the biggest event in Brewer history.

Probably my all time favorite Uecker call - the Easter game with Deer and Dale HRs.  Magical.

The Braun HR call against the Cubs in 2008 was  pretty decent too but I will always remember the 1987 Easter game as a kid growing up. 

Big series for the Crew.  They need to at least show some life and the Pirates won't be easy.

My favorite Uecker call was probably in Cecil Cooper's three homer game against the Yankees in 1979. The game had a bench clearing brawl and Cooper's third home run was a walk-off in the bottom of the 9th.

 

I was about 10 years old and grew up on a farm and remember it was about 90 degrees that day. We came back from finishing chores and listened to that game. It made a huge impression on me as you could almost feel the electricity in the stadium through the radio and Uecker was jacked up big time. I wish there were a tape of that walk off home run available, but I don't think I've ever heard the call again.

Where the hell are the bats?  Other than Lind nobody is hitting at all

Why would Pirates bring the infield in with 2 outs in the 4th up 4 runs and Brewers on 1st and 2nd?  Is Ned Yost managing them now?

Braun hits HR to clinch the 2011 Central. (to lose of freaking course to the Cardinals)

 

Braun beats the Cubs.

 

This whole thing was very cool.

 

Remember that few years where we were good?  That was fun.

 

 

Thanks CA for those clips. Those never get old. Many great memories in 2011. I especially remember the month of August that season. I believe it was the most winning month in Brewers history if I recall correctly. We lost only a few games that month. We also had a 0-4 start that year.

0 - 4 in 2015.  After the collapse in 2014, it doesn't have the same feel as the 0 - 4 start in 2011.

I also remember the radio call from that Easter Sunday game, it was truly magical.  You just had a feeling they might pull it out.

 

Hope the bats wake up soon.  We don't have the starters to win many games scoring 2 runs.

First time this season I've been able to sit down and catch a full game. Have to admit it feels great. Helps that they are playing well finally.

I still think the best Bob Uecker call of all time was the catch by Robin Yount in center to save Juan Nieves no hitter vs. the Orioles. 

 

"Long run Robin, long long run, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee's got it!!!!!" 

"To Left and Deep ..." Etched in my mind forever.

Yount from first to home after a Cooper drive into the gap in right .... Countless times laying listening to the radio. I
Luv baseball because of Uek and Rocking Robin, The Kid.

Remember it like it was yesterday. Always thought Robin really put some "flourish" into that dive.

Well, our prayers have been answered.  Sounds like a strong win for the Crew.

 

Read some of RR's remarks after yesterday's loss and in regards to Scooter's getting tossed out and his benching tonight.

 

Sounds to me like RR's tolerance level has dropped a notch or two...which may be a good sign.  aka.  "no stupid play on the field or in the dugout or else...".  Good for RR.  And maybe good for the Brewers.

 

Now let's hope they follow through and win tomorrow.  Lord knows they're gonna need all the wins they can get in the next two months.

Really important to get the win and hopefully Lohse can rebound today and they win the series

I didn't realize just how challenging their April schedule is given they play NL Central rivals the rest of the month.  It's early but they can't afford to get too far behind

He is the Crews AJ Hawk no doubt .... Melvin keeps trying to the Crew fans into why they are so great.
He is terrible fielder and average hittet at best

This game got our of hand in a hurry

Davis is cheap and serviceable.  Least of the problem on this team.
