This all starts with the pitching and the starting pitching (with the exception of Fiers) has been terrible.  Not saying the offense is without blame, because I'm tired of guys swinging at crap a foot outside.  But JHC, being down 4, 5, or 6 runs after 3 innings is getting old.  And yet R.R. wants to have a six man rotation?! WTF?  Who does that?  Especially a team in a pennant race.  It's not time to see if Nelson can handle September baseball.  Put him in the pen, and if someone struggles, bring him in.

I don't want a manager who doesn't think they will go on a run.

I will also note that I wonder if before the season we would be happy if we knew the club would be 3 games out in the division and in Wild Card playoff game on September 4? I suspect we would have been.

Today is a new day and while it might not be a bad idea to check your schedule a couple weeks down the road so you can work in some shoveling, there is still a lot of ball to be played yet.

I don't want a manager that is full of **** either

There is not one element of this team playing well right now.  The hitting sucks, the pitching sucks even more, and the defense has taken a turn for the worse.

If you think that's setting them up for a late season run you are kidding yourself.

Unless the Brewers sweep the Cards their season is over.  Period.  The problem is STL has their number and they've turned the corner.   Good news for them; bad news for Milwaukee

It was fun while it lasted but I have a feeling we'll look back and lament that it was the Cubs, not the Cardinals, that put the nail in their coffin.   That's a tough pill to swallow
