No one really thought it was going to be wire to wire, did they?

A deadline deal has to be coming. They're getting listless. Wait until Lee is off the DL- gets a few starts, then he's a Brewer. Add Lee to this rotation and you've got something that can win in October...

Might be time to shut down Smith for a bit. Something's up. He's been getting pounded lately. 9 ERs last 3 appearances...

Man, this streak needs to end. Now. Get the AS break with a couple wins and then regroup.

At least Wang got some work.

I'm tired of playing with a 24 man roster. Maybe if you had an extra usable player, this 1-9 stretch would be a 3-7 slump instead. Maybe an extra arm in the bullpen would have prevented them from having to overuse Will Smith, Zach Duke, and Kinzler. Each of those three is on pace to approach or exceed 80 appearances.

I wonder how the rules work for Wang in terms of verifying his "injury". I'm glad they are finally making a move, but keeping him this long has probably cost them a game or two (his WAR is -0.9 at this point and that doesn't figure in the added wear on the other members of the bullpen).

It's not how poorly Wang has pitched in my mind it's that he's spot on the roster could have been filled by another hitter or pitcher.  This team is not good enough to simply have a project like Wang eating up a roster spot and the trickle down effect is that Thornburg and Smith have been overused and Kinzler isn't far behind.
