Wouldn't the best of all possible worlds be to bring in Boateng? Somebody who can presumably kick the ball far, and is Ghanaian to boot?

The body just....shuts the whole thing down. In any event, I don't see a female kicker making an NFL team for a long time, although it will probably happen someday, 30-40 years down the road.

That said, when a guy like Walsh can go 10-10 from 50+ it's fair to expect more in that category given Crosby's price tag.
A big part of the article is the stadium factor. Walsh, in the Humpty-Dome vs Crosby at Lambeau.
Walsh had 1 attempts @ Lambeau last year, and missed (40-49 range). He was 1 of 2 at Soldier. Walsh had I think 12 games in domes last year where he was 28 of 29 and prefect over 50.

if you take into account how many times he has hit one of the uprights (meaning a near make with a little help from the crosswinds), the percentages look better in the Packer's support of Crosby
If you could get points from hitting a goal posts or cross bar then Crosby would be the best kicker in the NFL.

So if Lambeau was so difficult to kick at, then why were his terrible stats on the road? It's interesting to note how poor his dome percentage was. One more interesting stat -

Nice work on those stats and while Lambeau certainly is a difficult place to kick - it would seem that last year was more mental than anything else
Wonder what happens this year when the South End Zone is fully closed in - may need another adjustment period to kick in the "new" stadium
the South endzone was effectively filled in construction-wise last season so he should already have experience with the change in wind dynamics.
