Who could pass up being inserting Tebow's fist?

Who could pass up being Tebow's first?

Tebow is a slut.

He is probably making more money than NFL kickers dare dream of.

Contraceptives? Isn't rape a contraceptive?
Only legitimate rapes. Those'll fire up those uterine lasers and blast that pesky zygote to socialist hell where it belongs.

Now, illegitimate rapes? You gotta watch out for those. They'll rip the freedom out from right under our feet.

... since Crosby entered the NFL in 2007, he has attempted more 50-plus yard field goals than every place-kicker except the Oakland Raiders' Sebastian Janikowski. He has missed 19 of those 33 attempts, accounting for nearly half of the total misses in his career.

The second chart, courtesy the MIT paper, is a ranking of the most difficult stadiums to kick in since the start of the 2000 season... Based on kicking results from 3,410 games at 51 stadiums over that time period, the researchers found that Lambeau Field posed a more difficult challenge than every stadium except one: the New England Patriots' Gillette Stadium when it had a grass surface. (The conversion to artificial turf came in 2006.) Based on this model, at least, Lambeau is the most difficult active stadium to kick in.

Crosby, of course, has played half of his 96 career games at Lambeau.

Taken together, the researchers credited Crosby as the fifth-most underrated placekicker in the NFL since 2000. The total level of difficulty of his kicks, they argued, created the fifth-largest gap between his actual conversion rate and his adjusted level-of-difficulty rate.

Shouldn't preclude bringing in some competition during camp this season, but provides some useful perspective.

Great article. I thought he was $$$ when we drafted him, obviously, last year was a hiccup, but I expect him to be on the squad this year. He is a good kicker.

Yep. Last year's problems were almost exclusively in the 50+ yarder column until they spiraled out of control with the national attention.

I believe he attempted more from 40+ than any kicker last year. Part of that's got to be on Mike.

That said, when a guy like Walsh can go 10-10 from 50+ it's fair to expect more in that category given Crosby's price tag.
A big part of the article is the stadium factor. Walsh, in the Humpty-Dome vs Crosby at Lambeau.

Walsh had 1 attempts @ Lambeau last year, and missed (40-49 range). He was 1 of 2 at Soldier. Walsh had I think 12 games in domes last year where he was 28 of 29 and prefect over 50.
if you take into account how many times he has hit one of the uprights (meaning a near make with a little help from the crosswinds), the percentages look better in the Packer's support of Crosby

The following stat seems to remain unexplained -
Home 12/16 (75%) 50+ 1/3 (33%)
Away 09/17 (53%) 50+ 1/6 (17%)

Outdoors 15/22 (68%) 50+ 1/4 (25%)
Indoors 06/11 (54.5%) 50+ 1/5 (20%)

So if Lambeau was so difficult to kick at, then why were his terrible stats on the road? It's interesting to note how poor his dome percentage was. One more interesting stat -

Sep 5/5 100%
Oct 4/8 50%
Nov 3/7 43%
Dec 9/13 69%
Jan 2/2 100%

(6/6 on his last 6 attempts)

Looks more to me like the guy just had a shaky midseason slump.

Nice work on those stats and while Lambeau certainly is a difficult place to kick - it would seem that last year was more mental than anything else

Wonder what happens this year when the South End Zone is fully closed in - may need another adjustment period to kick in the "new" stadium
As long as they can replace Crosby with a leg that's just as strong, I'm down.

Hopefully he'll be more accurate than Crosby's 2012 season too.

Something tells me Crosby is going to kick very well for us in 2013
This is not competition.

From 2006-'08, Barnard kicked at Division III Fairleigh Dickinson, where he made a paltry 59.3% (16 of 27) and missed five of 54 extra points for teams that finished 7-23. His long was 47 yards, and he had three blocked.
