It shouldn't shock anyone that politics and sports bleed into each other when our president speaks out against professional athletes twice in one week.

Athletes choose to use their constitutional right to protest, posters on X4 used their constitutional right to vote.  Hooray democracy!  I have good friends spread out on each side of left and right (not to far left and right, those ****ers are loons).

It's Packer Sunday, lets enjoy a little football, let people have opinions (even stupid ones) without pissing ourselves and lets hope the President is working on something of value for the American people instead of worrying what billionaire owners should do with employees or how much NBA stars adore him.

I am eager to hear the typical bevy of hot takes on sports today, I will start.  If the Pack starts out slow today, it is because CMIII insists on Neil Diamond playing softly in the locker room during pregame.

The non stop sports coverage is really taking a toll on me. Why do we even have Thursday night football? I rarely watch TNF.  Another thing that bothers me is that the sports show hosts claim celebrity status. They are broadcasting the games and have some access to teams you like so they can act like they are as important to the game as the teams and players are. Pregame shows, post game shows are rarely watched at my house. I don't even listen to the TV when the Packer games are being aired. I listen to Wayne and Larry on the Packers Radio Network and once the game is done there, I turn off the radio. The only football experts I read or listen to are the ones on packers.timesfour.com.

I admit this is a petty opinion on my part, but I have to agree, I hate Thursday night football except on Thanksgiving.  **** college football for wanting to have games on Friday too.

I never agree with every issue with every politician.  But, I'm an American who believes in free speech and the right to vote for whatever candidate I choose.  I thought that was the American way?

For 8 months now people have whined about the president....forgetting that Hilary was the other choice.   Many of us are just tired of the same old posters sounding like a Viking fan making excuses for not winning.   Get.  Over.  It.   Also, try to be more positive to posters you don't agree with, Boss.

Keep politics out of TimesFour.

Except none of that happened.  That's the world you pawns live in and it needs to be addressed to cure it from our society.  I will always be you and your ****ing ilk's huckleberry.  Always.

I only wish we could do it face to face.

Your new antifa soundbytes and the wee tiny kids in antifa are both bull****.  I'm a working man's thug and don't you ****ing forget it.

I suggest you vacate if you don't like the choo choo coming down the tracks.

Anything the steelers or any other team or any other player do to respond to the president manchild (yes, another name but when your president sents the tone on name calling, what do you expect?) just gets him more attention.  Which seems to be his whole MO for being president.  He is the biggest believer in "there is no bad publicity, just really high tv ratings".

That has absolutely nothing to do with politics and everything to do with lacking the mental competency to not just be POTUS but to simply be a decent person.

A virtual to our divisive President.

Trump hasnt helped but  the country was divided long before he took office. Obama was supposed to bring people together and while I did nto vote for him I sure wanted him to succeed as opposed to the Trump haters that wanted him to fail even before he took office.  Obama put race relations back 20 years. Always stepping out when a black person got killed and ramping up hate against police when many of them were justified. He Embraced Black Lives Matter when they should have been put down. I thought Black, Blue, White, Red and all lives matter. Maybe Trump should support a group saying White Lives Matter. That should go over real well. Obama totally ignored the civil war going on in Chicago where killings between black kids is rampant. He did  not want to address any kind of controversey. The guy was a total disgrace as  a president. He divided the damn country.

Context matters.  Who the **** murdered that?

That makes sense.

Catching & killing Bin Laden - no controversy.

Giving health care to 30 million people. No controversy.

Creating jobs & fixing the economy from 2008. No controversy.

Yes he was very divisive. I see your point.

He set the country back 20 years on race relations. Ambushing and Killing Cops just because they were cops became in vogue. Defending thugs before he knew the facts. (Travon Martin could have been his son crap) Hands up dont shoot except the thug never had his hands up. Came out loudly against such violence but never said anything about Chicago or the people murdering cops.  I do have to say he was probably one of the best orators ever made president. Not that anything he ever said was true, but it sure as hell sounded good.

By 'vacate' I presume you mean 'leave'.

I'm puzzled.  So now it's about Chicago and it's Obama's fault?

LA wants their gang and race related violence rep back.  After all, that was Bush Senior's fault.  Oh wait - blame it on NWA or gangsta rap that's always convenient.

Darrell Gates is probably rolling around in his grave screaming he's officially off the hook.

I worked with and was friends with a guy name Ray.  Ray was a big, big man from the South Side.  I mean the ****tiest of the **** neighborhoods.  I knew him from my bar days and he was intimidating to say the least.  It's an interesting conversation to have when you're sitting around and Ray tells you about people he knew growing up who were simply disappeared after being taken into custody.  Wasn't a stitch of anger in his voice, just resignation.

I love pricks like you who never ventured into the world to understand different people's point of view yet feel you are in some position to condemn it.  You want to know why I'm uniquely qualified to call out lower/working class white guys on their bull****?  Because I grew up in it and I know it.  What I've never been able to nail down as I explored humanity is the suburban liberal/conservative who have never struggled a ****ing day in their life regurgitating soundbytes thinking they have a god damn point.

So Sean Hannity is a TimesFour member? Gotta love State TV...

Hank - those most outraged and hypersensitive don't need to have actually suffered any indignities.  That takes the fun out of it.

Perspective is overrated

Props to the Steelers and I hope the President spends as much time trying to fix healthcare or resolve the North Korean mess but that's actual work.  Which he's never done a day in his life.

There you go again. Just making generalizations and assumptions about people you have idea to what their history is, what makes them tick, or what has happend or done in their their life to come to their conclusions. Because we "pricks" have never had to struggle? You have no idea. Just another inaccurate assumption on your part.   The exact same thing you rail against are the things you do in each and every argument. You define hypocrisy.

What Ammo said. SDPF seems to stoke all the political crap regularly.

That's what I see.

Why? Ignore it, SDPF, but I know you can't.

And yes. Any person supporting Drumpf is a ****ing moron. This isn't R's vs. D's. This is about what's right vs. Wrong.

Too funny guys.   Nice try.  I don't interject.  I respond in kind....but I'm the bad guy?  Really, Boris?

So you are the Grand PoohBah who defines the "moronic code" for supporting political candidates?   I am surprised at your bias, Boss.

Just stop allowing the cheap political talk in football threads.  No one wants it.

So to quote another mod:    Just. Stop.  It.

"Stop. Just STOP. "  You are right, that was me in a reply to you in the Harvey-Irma thread.  1st post on page 2. But you didn't listen.

You do a good job of playing the victim.  Just like someone we have watched for the last 8 months.

Really?  It should've been a reply to Chillijon for inciting politics into the thread 8 posts earlier.  Pay attention.  Especially if you are a mod who cares about TimesFour.  I'm not playing any victim.  I'm telling you I only reply when you or one of your lib friends tries to interject politics into threads on TimesFour.  Wake up, man.

Agree that the libs like to think none of that happened.  I would pretend it didn't happen, too, if I was a Democrat.    Let's do it Hanky.

You'll know the end is near when the Vikings win a...well, win a NFL Title game. I was going to say Super Bowl, but let's not get carried away.
