In McCarthy's offense the guy would be unbelievable IMO. Not that I say replace #12, but it should be nice to know that we have someone after him that's really good.

Wow Joe Montana and Drew Brees, if Wilson DOESN'T make the HOF he will be a disappointment.

Congratulations sir.... and remember, we are laughing at you, not with you.

I could see him drafting Foles.

I've watched my share of UA games. Foles is a big kid with a pretty good arm. He isn't very mobile though. Definitely worth a shot.

The guy I like out of Zona is the WR Juron Criner. He's a big strong kid who had a knack for making some plays. I think he's low-mid round guy that could turn into a starter at some point.

Northern Illinois’ Chandler Harnish

What ??!! A MAC guy ?? Take him Ted !!! Big Grin

The guy is extremely gritty. Tough as hell. He has marginal arm strength but makes good decisions , has excellent pocket awareness/elusiveness, and can run the ball. Could develop into a solid backup.

Fun player to watch the last few years MAC MVP

This draft will be the best QB draft since the Marino draft.

The top 3 alone make it exciting. After that, there are a bunch of guys I can see making it.

Laughable. If Luck and RG3 perform you'll be sucking you're own dick. Way to go out on a limb.

"Mark it down, two of the biggest prospects in years with legitimate talent may be productive".

You'e a ****ing genius.

How will Weedon, Tannehill and Ostweiler do?

Hey Capt Wall Splatter, I'm still waiting for you to produce your record predictions for the Packers for the last 5 years.

Go back to the Manny ball forum before I invade it.

I'm guessing he's high on the spirit of the lord!

Take it easy, GD- the compaison is those players out of college. The point in bringing up these great QBs is to illustrate that you don't have to be 6'5", 245, and able to throw a ball through a brick wall.
I don't really understand this topic. Clearly, it is motivated by a love for the Badgers.

Not that it isn't nice to have a backup for a QB we hope is our starting QB for the next 10 years.

I just focus more on potential starters.

It helps... current NFL QBs in the 6'4" + range:

Peyton
Eli
Brady
Ben
Rivers
Ryan
Flacco
A.Smith
Palmer

QBs in the 6'2" + range:
Rodgers
Romo
Cutler

Brees is the outlier...
Stafford / Matt Flynn & Sanchez are all 6'2"

Cassel is 6'4"

Cam Newton is 6'5"

Vick is 6'0"

Matt Moore is 6'3"

Flutie is about the shortest QB I can remember. A QB at 5'10" is a rarity.

No kidding. Back ups never play.
I could see maybe taking Wilson if he dropped to late in the draft. But, I doubt that happens. I think TT would rather draft a QB with good size, good arm strength and coach him up. You can't coach height.
I don't think Russell is going to be a star in the league but he could end up being a decent backup QB and there is value in that. He's a smart QB with some talent who makes excellent decisions. If there's value in Taeblow, there's definitely value in Wilson.

Of course, this adds the extra problem of his helmet always covering up his eyes.

Maybe he could get a helmet with eye holes.....kind of like Weird Harold in the Cosby Kids (or was it Mushmouth?)

Wrong twice...it was Dumb Donald.....does it make me a racist if it takes three guesses to get a Cosby character correct?
QB's have 'grown' in heighth and weight over the last 20 years or so, much like most other positions in the NFL.
During the 60's and into the 70's, 6' 200# QB's were the benchmark, so to speak, and a big O-Linemen was maybe 6'1' or 6'2" at 250#. That has evolved to a typical QB in the 6'2"-to-6'4" range, and weight is 220-225. Ditto for linemen to be 300-325# and, again, in the 6'2"-to-6'5" range.

Look at Vick, as an example. I had no idea he was 6' tall, but he's small compared to most of his peers. There's not too many teams I can think of that are playing with a relatively short QB.

And who was the guy that used to be on here that always loved the little guys?
Anybody see him on Gruden's QB School thing on ESPN yesterday? I saw a few minutes of it. He must has said "yes sir" to Gruden 20 times in that 5 minutes! Very polite young man. Politeness adds 2 inches of height my mom always said.

RGIII did that as well. I wanted to smack them for it. Especially Russ, who does not talk like that in "real life".
