My first exposure to him probably would have been "Let's Dance" back when I was about 10 years old, but he had so much more than that, both before and after.

Damn. Cancer sucks.
Honestly the first time I ever heard of the guy was the "let's Dance" and a few other songs in the 80's when I was a teenager. RIP
Pioneer, amazing talent, huge influence in the music world. This one stings a bit.
RIP Ziggy, Thin White Duke, Pioneer of Glam.
Bummer. His music was part of many a good time for me back in the day. Thanks for the memories Ziggy. You'll be missed.
Goddammitsomuch. F.
If you haven't, go spotify his latest album Blackstar. Unique, different, innovative, Bowie.
Also - Tin Machine doesn't get enough notice, I love both albums they put out, just really great straightforward rock music. Plus Soupy Sales kids...
The first vinyl LP of David's that I Purchased was Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma'am! An LP made for cranking up the volume! David will be missed!
I still have many of his albums on vinyl. Will be spinning a few discs tonight to pay homage to an other worldly talent. One of a kind he was.
The Duke has left to rule over his Great Duchy in the Sky.

My favorite Bowie album - still play the vinyl version. My favorite song on that album is Rock-n-Roll Suicide.
My office is on Bowie St in Austin, but not this week.
Fvcking genius. Yes, I'm a fan.
David Bowie describing a concert he gave in Berlin, 1987:
It was one of the most emotional performances Iâve ever done. I was in tears. Theyâd backed up the stage to the wall itself so that the wall was acting as our backdrop. We kind of heard that a few of the East Berliners might actually get the chance to hear the thing, but we didnât realize in what numbers they would. And there were thousands on the other side that had come close to the wall. So it was like a double concert where the wall was the division. And we would hear them cheering and singing along from the other side. God, even now I get choked up. It was breaking my heart. Iâd never done anything like that in my life, and I guess I never will again. When we did âHeroesâ it really felt anthemic, almost like a prayer. However well we do it these days, itâs almost like walking through it compared to that night, because it meant so much more.
RIP.
