Defensive Rookie of Year

My guess is Kuechly.

No way the National Media votes for a Packer. They will pick someone else, some one who has performed for worse than Hayward has.

Kuechly leads the NFL in tackles I think, which in and of itself doesn't tell you how he's playing, necessarily. I don't think he's been anywhere as good as Hayward has been at his position, but I think Kuechly wins because of the gaudy tackle numbers

Kuechly leads the league in tackles, has 2 Ints, 6 passes defensed and a sack. I'd say that's a pretty damn solid rookie year. He's deserving.

Chandler Jones was in the running but then he got hurt and has missed time. I think it comes down to Kuechly and Hayward for it

Pro Football Focus has Hayward as the best defensive rookie by far. He won't win it though. Voters want stats and even tough number of tackles is the most meaningless stat in football, he'll garner votes for it. Janoris Jenkins will also likely finish ahead if Hayward due to his 3 pick sixes, even though Hayward has played better.

Oh well, Hayward can just use this as motivation for the playoffs and 2013.

I think corner is a much harder position to play as a rookie. Hayward stepped in and played like a veteran pro. I think Hayward should get DROY, but probably won't.

Having said that, Kuechly has 53 stops this year and has only missed 8 tackles on over 700 snaps. So he'll probably end up getting it.

Not only that, he stepped in and played slot corner. Much tougher than the outside. I'm sure Dom and MM were terrified letting a rookie play the slot. He's done everything right.
