Is it Hayward's award? Harry Smith from the Vikings has been really good, even if he is dirty. Chandler Jones has 6 sacks. Luke Kuechly had a big year for the Panthers.

There's no Von Miller, JJ Watt or Aldon Smith piling up huge sack totals like last year.

I don't see how anyone but Hayward should win this. 6 INTs and I think he's way up there in pass break ups.

Pro Football Focus has Hayward as the best defensive rookie by far. He won't win it though. Voters want stats and even tough number of tackles is the most meaningless stat in football, he'll garner votes for it. Janoris Jenkins will also likely finish ahead if Hayward due to his 3 pick sixes, even though Hayward has played better.

Oh well, Hayward can just use this as motivation for the playoffs and 2013.

Interestingly Watt has 20.5 and is what 1.5 from tying Strahan? I'd love to see him break it not only because of me being a homer Sconnie but also because of the way Strahan got his.
