I think Ryan is handling him well enough. As much as I hate seeing other guys on the team throw up volleyball serves in one on one with a chance to win the game (Jackson against MN), I understand the pacing and can't argue against it.

The thing I worry about is that he'll defer to the older guys after this year. He needs to make this his team, and he needs to be the go-to guy after this year. I don't want to see him deferring to Jackson when he clearly needs to be the man.

I have high hopes for the incoming Freshmen next year. This program is pointed up, no doubt about it. The coaching staff proved again this year that they can take kids that aren't ready and coach them up. Going into March, this team is capable of a Final Four run or a first round bounce. Fun!
I agree. I understand not having him take 15 shots a game at this point, but if Bo keeps running the end of game play where Jackson/Jordan Taylor/point guard that year dribbles the clock down under 5 seconds and then goes one on one, Dekker needs to be the guy doing that now. Anyone who watched him in the state finals last year would have to agree he thrives in that situation. Heck, if I was an opposing coach I might double him because I think he's the one player they have that can create his own shot. I love Bo, but I know I'll be frustrated if we lose a close game in the NCAA tournament where Jackson takes the last shot on an isolation play.

That's the talk of a Champion. I tell my son and his Sophomore buddies- Championships are won in the off-season. This team has heir leader. Now do they have their role players? Can Bohannon, Dukan, Kaminsky, and yes Brist and Jackson follow? Can they get minutes out of Anderson? Will the incoming Freshmen meet the demand? Will Marshall step forward and improve depth?

Big off-season for the program. A chance to be special is within their grasp.
