D*mn......but good for him also. Class act, and wish him only the best. Just wish he would stay.
Good for him, hope it works out and he gets a big second contract.
He was/is a great Badger. Very nice letter, shows he was raised/coached right.
It will be interesting to see what he does in the NBA. He could have returned to work on his shooting and defense but don't blame him one bit for moving on.
Can't blame him. It's likely his draft stock will never be higher and probably anything other than a return trip to the Final 4 would be considered a disappointment if he returned.
I hope he ends up going in the middle to late first round so he ends up on a better team. That will set him up much better for a second contract.
"It is difficult to leave Madison and the only state I've ever called home."
I don't think he intended it this way, but does this mean he's ruled out playing for the Bucks?
I'm guessing he knows the odds are slim

He actually fits the type of player Jason Kidd seems to gravitate towards (Giannis, MCW, etc.) - guys with a lot of length that can mess up passing lanes.
sure, I just don't think he was saying "Excited to put my name in the draft, hope things don't turn out like Todd Day."

Todd Day played 9 years in the NBA and made 12 million in the 1990s (probably the equivalent of 18-20 million in today's dollars). Day is possible comp. for Dekker in that he was a decent player who didn't shoot well enough to be a star.
What is Dekker's ceiling? Everyone keeps comparing him to Keith Van Horn.

That's Hammond, not Kidd.
Van Horn or any lanky white guy....

Todd Day
You completely missed my point.
Todd Day hated being drafted by Milwaukee
Van Horn averaged 20PPG in his prime and was a pretty good rebounder as well. He also played on a number of good playoff teams
Thanks for the ride Sam, you are just coming into your own, good luck and ...
F'em Bucky.

I honestly didn't remember that. I was in grad school on the East Coast at the time and couldn't afford to have access to ESPN which was the main way of seeing some stuff like this in the pre-internet days.
