It's disappointing to lose a game like that, but the players can be as stupid as the coaches when they run a 'trick' play.
But having a second, then third chance to make a smart decision, and not, just because he's gonna by-gawd show EVERYBODY he's a Billy BadAss, is as meat- headed as it gets.

The reality is they may only drop down to the #3 seed, but the point is poor game management is NOT on the blueprint of success.

I'm sorry. But that was a great evening of football by two teams I hate.

No need to be sorry, lovepack.
That was a good game and enjoyable to watch
The 1st half was mostly a great defensive display from both teams.
Both offenses were fairly explosive, and each made good scoring drives.
Lamb put on a receiving clinic.

I'll agree that it would've been a better game if it were 2 teams I didn't despise.

Lions got hosed,  looks like he told the ref

I think I agree with Aikman on this one. It looks like he and another OL followed the ref, but were trying to be sneaky and not draw attention to themselves. The ref was walking away and didn't hear him/them, and neither guy made a really clear motion to his jersey to indicate eligible, nor did the ref nod his head to indicate that he acknowledged the OL was eligible. Colossal eff up all the way around, but this really is on Campbell to not kick it and go OT.

Do we even know what Campbell's argument was on the ineligible play? He was ranting like an idiot why? Because his own guy screwed up? Trying to win from the two- no argument from me. Doubling and tripling down on the ensuing plays? He alone cost them that game. As much as we've been suckered by his team recently, it's good to know you always have a chance against them simply because of his bravado. Kick the extra point and get to OT on the road. Dum dum.

I don't know what the requirement is for reporting as eligible, but back in the day, it was a very specific procedure. You had to walk up to the ref, state "number so-and-so is reporting as an eligible receiver", and wait for his acknowledgement, usually by repeating what you told him.
Also, he typically would note it in his game notebook, but you didn't have to wait for that.

It may be much more casual now and/or at the pro level, and that's what Campbell was so pissed about.
I thought the last replay after break was pretty clear; #70 walked up to the ref and presumably reported, but #68 was never anywhere near the ref. If he was yelling it to the ref (unlikely), the ref was already walking away by that time and never made any acknowledgement.

The fact that he was uncovered makes it all moot. I'm surprised there's any NFLFU controversy (for once).

Right?? Illegal formation. End of story.

The really idiotic thing is Campbell refusing to kick an extra point.

Just don't get that unless he says he wanted either the win or the loss but didn't want to play extra football. I can understand that.....don't agree with it but I get it. Saving his players for the playoffs.

Had Cowboys -5.5

Can anyone please explain what Dallas & Dak was doing when he threw the ball OOB on 3rd & 10???? Thereby saving the Lions a timeout plus about 40 seconds?

I told you the other day Prescott is not a Superb Owl winning QB.  Last night proved just that.

And on the 2pt play, I wonder if 68 and 70 had their rolls mixed up.  If 70 had lined up on the left outside of 68 and caught the ball play is good.   Goff just saw a guy wide open and threw. Probably didn't look at what number he was wearing.

From what I've read, both 70 & 68 approached the officials to try to confuse the Cowboys. The Lions say that 68 and not 70 declared as eligible, but officials say it was 70 who declared. My take is that the official really couldn't hear what the two were saying and just assumed it was 70 since he had declared eligible previously in the game.
