NJ - NY Game 1 in the Eastern Conference finals tonight. First time these teams have met in the Conference finals since 1994. Possibly the greatest 7 game series I've ever watched, in any sport.

Mark Messier guarantees a game 6 win, then scores a Hat Trick after the Rangers fall behind 2-0. Three double overtime finishes, including game 7. Game 7 by itself was incredible. The Devils tie the game with 7 seconds left in regulation.

Martin Brodeur's rookie season. 18 years later he starting in goal.

Not a fan of either team. I was just starting to follow hockey and will never forget watching every minute of that series. Really looking forward to this series.

The tribute to Brodeur's greatness is that he got the NHL to institute a rule specifically to punish him.

(Why else do you think the NHL came up with the ****ing trapezoid rule?)

New York, New Jersey, couldn't care any less. I probably should root for Rangers as the Caps nearly beat them after a great 7-game series, but the fans of both of the teams playing are too obnoxious for me. I'll root for the Western Conference representative.

No, Hauser, you should have rooted for the Devils to knock out the team that beat your favorite.

Right now I feel a lot like I was during the Packers victory over Atlanta in the playoffs last year, when I was screaming "TRAMON!!! TRAMON!!!!!" as he was running down the sideline at the end of the first half with that pick six. This time it's Adam Henrique, one of Lou Lamoriello's several finds.
