from GreenBayPressGazette column;
“He’s very eager to get after the rehab,” McCarthy said. “(After) that time, the option of playing with a harness and potential surgery is really what we’re looking at. There’s a lot of history with this particular injury that we’ve had here, but every one of them is a different scenario. Two or three weeks and how he responds to the rehab will be a big part of the decision.”
I'm cautiously optimistic about both Hayward and House. Yes they both have had great camps and have shown a ton of talent, but they are both still very green. House played some last year, but it's a big leap from Dime CB facing the team's 4th WR to starting CB facing the team's 1st or 2nd WR. Same thing for Hayward. They both need a lot of experience and they're going to have some rough moments. We don't even know yet if those guys can be consistent against the best in the league. I think Shields still factors in significantly because of his experience and his physical abilities. He may be the media/X4 whipping boy right now, but he's been there and knows what needs to be done.

Shields looked great when we were #1 in the league in sacks. He played like crap when we were at the bottom in sacks. Same goes for Williams and Woodson. It's not a coincidence. If the pass rush is truly improved, I predict we will magically see improved play from our secondary. And if we are really great at rushing the QB, MD Jennings might make a Pro Bowl!

Anathema around here! He's had a horrid camp but he'll still have his shot opposite Tramon. A better pass rush is sure to help everyone but I think the bigger factor in SS doing so well as a rook is he had Collins, Tramon, and Peprah on the field with him so he could be more effective with his athleticism while the other guys were doing their job. Last year DC's had tape on his weaknesses and knew how to isolate him and go after him. Sure hope he pulls his head out of his butt and starts showing more progress.
