For a season to forget thus far, a Huge W for Counsell and the Crew. Down 3-0 against a guy like Kershaw who was lights out last year (granted, not as strong this year). Though just a start, and just one game - it gave the season even a small bit of life. Let's have some fun the rest of the way.
Odds are Brewers lose that game tonight if RR was still in the dugout. Lohse would have given up another HR or FrankRod would have choked in the 9th. Guess we'll never know for certain though. But it was a good win and a game that may springboard this team. Some wins here and there and getting back to .500 may be a real goal in the next several weeks. Go Brewers!
Just a sweet win all around. What made it so good besides it ushering in the CC era, was the fact we got some clutch hitting on Kershaw. Hector Gomez oh my. Nice come from behind win and K-Rod sealing the deal in the 9th. That's one way to win a game. C'mon Crew make it 4 straight and 2 straight series wins tonight.

No worries. Heard RR left some stuff in the manager junk drawer and came and picked the stuff up when Garza gave up the dong. Team got confused.
Fully expect a complete game today as RR took the red eye back to SoCal last night...

Slowly climbing back in it. Still 10 games under .500 but there is the vibe that things are improving. The bats just came alive right out of the gate for 5 in the first inning just set the tone for the rest of the game. Keep turning up the heat Crew !

I think there are some guys on this team that are just a long for the ride. Maybe that's why RR's effect went south so quickly. And if that's the case, then Doug Melvin needs to be taking more heat.
But even my dad commented last night that now most of the MLB players don't really seem to care anymore whether they hit well, throw well, play well or for that matter win. And he's right. Most of these guys nowadays just do their job and collect a big check either way.
Far cry from the 1987 scene we saw at the end of the game when the Crew beat the Rangers to win their 13 straight victory. Those Texas players were really upset. And the Brewers were really happy. Not to mention the Milwaukee fans went ballistic. Ah, the good old daze.

Maybe that explains why the Cardinals win the division every year. There are articles out there about the effort they put in and how they don't think they are out of any game. They are a draft and develop team. A couple of years ago they had something like 13 pitchers out their farm team doing some pitching for them that weren't on the opening day roster when injuries hit. Some had a short stint while others had a bigger role that year. They still played in the NLCS. The good old days are alive and well in StL.
