Coach of only undefeated NFL team dies at 90
The following year, they beat Minnesota in the SB, which is about as close as the Vikings will ever get.

I thought he did a commercial for Nutrisystem, but the only copy I could find was a point you phone at the TV video, so get him hawking lawn care products instead:
BK wants the action stamps:
One of the greats of All-Time. Fantastic person too.
RIP Coach.
Just as many memories of him coaching Johnny U. and the Colts as the Dolphins.
That Colts team in 68 was scary
So, Barreiro on KFAN had Bud Grant on the show to talk about Shula. At one point, Grant said Shula should have his name on a trophy, because Lombardi has his name on one, and he wasn't as successful as Shula........
Yes Lombardi was as successful, just didn't do it as long.
Lombardi's name is on the trophy for a reason.
3 straight titles. Nobody has ever done that nor ever will. Shula had a shot but lost his first one.

Curly Lambeau did it from 1929-1931.
Truly an iconic Legend. RIP Coach

Is everybody associated with the Vikings idots?
It's called viking butthurt, a contagious condition that someone catches once they declare their allegiance to that team.
Yes.
Actually, there were three zero-loss seasons before Lambeau did it in 1929.
Gotta love those Canton Bulldogs.
Remember when the Packers were courting Shula to be their coach? Shula wanted part ownership of the team, so no deal. I think he would have been a good fit in Green Bay. Might have spared fans some rough seasons in the late 70's and early 80's.

Oh damn right they all are. I always love rubbing it in to spermheads fans their best coach was born and raised in Wisconsin.
As for Shula its sad that another icon from my youth is gone. RIP coach

Most people discount Lombardi's record of 37-21-2 as Giants offensive coach. Jim Lee Howell often said the offense was Lombardi, defense was Landry and all he did was make sure the balls were inflated. Add the Giants games to the Packer and redskin years and it is a lot more impressive.

Do you (or anyone) have any more info on this ?

I cannot find anything on this. I do remember someone interviewing Shula and asking him what it would take for him to come to Green Bay as their Head Coach. Shula answered I would want to own part of the team. I had heard other talk of this, at the time, as well. It had to be sometime between the Bengston and Devine years.
Email Cliff Christl and ask if he can shed any light on this.
Would be as good a resource as I could recommend.
