I guess what gets me.....is that....I get the sense that their Head Coach Whatshisname doesn't understand that we are the better team and they dont' have a defense to win a championship...let alone the division....all those picks for Jones.....wow....

Smith and Mularkey are absolutely the worst at making adjustments. If their initial game plan doesn't work, they're done.

Smith looked like a whiney bitch at the end of the game.

Did even come up to talk to ARod after the game? All pomp no circumstance
Packers not happy with Falcons after the game

quote:
The strongest words came from NT B.J. Raji, but a number of players were not pleased with the way the Atlanta Falcons played Sunday.

Several players complained of hits after the whistle and low blocks late.

"Great teams don't indulge in the kind of cheap stuff the Falcons do," Raji said. "We're the champions and we play that way. We walk away from the stuff they pull. These guys are coached to play after the whistle.

"I don't know what the deal is. I think it's a lack of talent on their part. We didn't worry about any of that. We came out and played our game."

We have a winner..

I was thinking shootout as well.. I was dead wrong. Capers squashed that when he started bringing the pressure.
The second half of this game was a great example of why stats don't always tell the whole story. Clay had zero sacks and the team had only one. But Clay (and others) had some serious pressure that forced some throw aways, some bad throws and at least one interception.

Why are there no stats on QB pressures and QB hits??? And Holding Penalties forced for that matter!
Funny that Clay's stats are lagging behind his first two seasons, but I think that he might actually be having a better season. How many times has he gotten a hand in to disrupt a QB this year? The guy is getting double teamed, held, knocked down, and he's just a massive headache for whoever he's pursuing.

You could tell from the Packer reactions, the Atl players were very chippy tonight.

They don't like the fact, they are NOT the better team & this Packer team exposed them....again, TODAY.

The player they traded practically 2 drafts for, injured his hammy because the guy covering him can run as fast as he can.

What has more chance to be a fluke? Atl at 13-3 or the Packers winning 4 straight road games to win the Lombardi?

Atl knew they had to play perfect and hope the Packers made some mistakes. It started out that way with the ATL putting together 2 nice drives plus a Ryan Grant fumble. But in the end, ATL didn't stand a chance. Green Bay is powerful!

Onward...

Don't know about the pressures or forced holding calls but you can find the hits given up here
Raji not about to forgive or respect the Falcons

Sitting on a stool in the winning locker room Sunday night, Raji expressed his dislike for the Atlanta Falcons and said there was no way the defense was going to allow them to do more than ride an early high brought on by a well-conceived script of plays and a roaring crowd.

"They have a long way to go," Raji said of being a Packers rival. "For it to be a rivalry, you have to win meaningful games. They're just another opponent. They have a long way to go.

"I wouldn't talk like this, but when people don't respect you, I don't take it lying down. Those people don't respect us, so in turn I'm not going to give them any respect."

snip

"Now that we abused them, for the second time in a row, at their home, there's nothing really to do," Raji said. "If they want to play us again, tell them to come up to Lambeau. That's it. That's how we're doing it."continue
That's awesome

Kind of tough to dislike a team like the Falcons (no real reason to), but Raji makes a good case

Screw em anyway. They are 2-3 and already two games behind the Saints in their own division, and they'd have go 8-3 at this point just to win 10 games. Much like Philly, I think that's excellent to see them underachieve.

Right now, at least one of the WC teams is coming out of the NFC North and it might be two teams (Chicago and either Detroit or GB) that make it.
Packers 25, Falcons 14: 'A better team'

Assuming there is a playoff rematch in their future, that is. To hear Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji talk in the wake of Sunday night’s against-the-odds, show-‘em-what-we’re-made-of 25-14 victory, the undefeated Packers won’t have to worry about seeing the Falcons again anytime soon.

“We have better players, we have better coaches, we’re a better team,” Raji said after the Packers (5-0) rallied from a 14-0 deficit – and did so without both their starting offensive tackles – to score the final 25 points of the game to beat the Falcons (2-3). “Usually better teams win games. We settled down and played our game, and we won.”

snip

For while the Packers and Falcons aren’t division foes, the Packers sounded downright giddy about sticking it to their new “rivals.”

“It’s definitely another dagger in their chests,” Raji continued. “They’ve been talking the whole offseason, they were talking before the game. We don’t worry about that. We’re the champions. We play like champions. We coach like champions. People who talk generally don’t get to where they want to go. And obviously with this team, it’s evident.”

snip

“We adjusted better, we had better players, we had better coaches, so we played better,” said Raji, who didn’t sound like a man expecting a playoff rematch. “I think the (New Orleans) Saints are a better team. They have a better quarterback. The team’s a little bit better. This team is OK. Hopefully they get some things together and they’ll be all right.”continue

I don't think the Packers are winning four straight road games in the playoffs this year. toobad

Under-selling the Pack again?
Didn't they win 6 straight road games? 2 to qualify for the playoffs in the regular season and then 4 to win the playoffs/SB? Smiler

At this point Atlantis is the fluke. But it is a long season. I'm wasn't give our Packers a real chance at this point last year. We started the season 2-1 last year, but then proceeded to lose 3 of our next 4 games. So I will wait on Atlantis.

Yup. Clay draws two 10 yard penalties, one of which pushes the Falcons out of field goal range.

Pressure did look better in the second half. Looked like Capers finally started moving CMIII around and throwing in some different blitzes (Woodson, Hawk and Bishop). I really think Capers is playing it safe until he needs to dial it up. I'm also hoping Neal and Zombo improve the pass rush. Wynn has fallen off a bit lately and Walden's bull rush just isn't working.

FTFY...

It's not a democracy. At some point, I will make the call.

I'm wondering if that's not the case too. Obviously the D has been giving up a ton of yardage, and more points than they would like. They are adjusting to life without the Jenkins rush, and now Collins as well. In that regard I think it will take a while for Dom to finish the product, but last night, second half was a good sign imo.
