Doesn't matter. The QB can see the play clock, be a leader, get the line set and get the damn ball snapped.

Yup, I agree, just wondering what was communicated to him in the huddle and what he was told on the sidelines. Thatβs all, by no means is he lily white in this.
Iβm not sure if he would be a D3 starter ammo, but heβs a D1 scholarship guy for Wisconsin and was our primary backup prior to the Mordecai and Van Dyke injuries.
I raised the alarm last year about Locke in that heβs not gifted at just about anything other than maybe intangibles. He doesnβt have great size, he lacks mobility, his accuracy is average at best, and his arm strength is average to maybe slightly above average. Simply put, we shouldnβt be surprised at what we are seeing.
To me, thatβs on Phil Longo and Luke Fickell. Longo is supposedly this QB guru but Locke has actually gotten worse as time goes on. Mettauer is a freshman, but heβs very highly regarded. The fact he hasnβt beaten out Locke even for the backup role, is really concerning.
To win at a high level in arguably the best conference in college football, you need a decent QB. Guys like Mordecai or Van Dyke should be the floor, and by floor, I mean backups. To land one of those top guys, you need to pay 2M a year. Thatβs the going rate.
So as I see it, Wisconsin is at a crossroads. Either push all of your chips in this offseason and go spend a bunch of NIL money to get a top 10 QB, or fire Longo and go back to playing Barry Ball. Itβs really that simple. This idea you can compete in the top tier of this conference by marching out a guy like Locke is utterly ridiculous.
hellava game by the defense, nothing but recognition for what they accomplished.
Kreedos to the oline, after getting punched in the gut the first two drives, they stepped it up. Walker is a good runningback. Usually what you would think the #2 Badger RB would be like. He made things happen this game though. Locke threw 2 great passes. That's it.
I honestly think if the Ducks pick of the shit pass Locke threw early, this is a 34-9 game. If the bullshit chop block isn't called, that has to give Bucky a better shot to win this. Game of inches and Bucky doesn't have a difference maker at QB.
Great effort and fun game to watch. I am encouraged they didn't lay down to O
The defense played good enough to win against Penn State as well.
Locke has 9 picks on the season. He could easily have double that amount. Every game he gives the defense 3-4 chances to pick it off either by virtue of tipped passes at the LOS or just poor reads or throws.
You could maybe tolerate the turnovers if he was a running threat or capable of giving you 3-4 TD passes every game. Heβs just way too limited physically and makes some really questionable decisions.
Any word on Hunter and Pauling?
Longo shitcanned

Well that escalated fairly quickly. I thought Longo may have survived the season but guess not.
Something to consider is Mettauer came to UW because of Longo. Donβt be surprised if he decides to bail.
If you are going to run an Air Raid offense you need a QB with an Air Raid arm. That ain't Locke. Does anybody know what kind of arm Mettauer, Spasojevic, or LaCrue have? All had some lofty high school stats.
the offense has been a mess since longo started. this was a move that needed to be made
Wow, didnβt see that coming now.
So, who takes his place

The Ducks are bringing it tonite. Itβs early but as usual PS looks to be outmatched in a big game.
