They went crazy in free agency before the 2011 season. They also shelled out big contract extensions to Vick and Jackson. Cap troubles were clearly on the horizon before the opening kickoff in 2011. They were in a win-now mode...they rolled the dice and lost.

Yet another reminder that this front office does things is the way they are supposed to be done.

I thought I read Nnamdi A. was owed about 15 million next year as well. If they cut him, they still take a 4 million dollar hit, but that's better than 15 million. I suspect either he takes a huge paycut or he goes back out on the market. If the Eagles get rid of both Vick and Nnamdi I wonder if that would fix their cap issues.

Getting rid of Vick might actually help them in the long run. Foles looks like a natural QB instead of the force fit that Vick looks like. Vick just isn't the guy he was in 2002-2004 where his sheer athleticism was so great that any team lacking speed on their defense had no chance against him. Now ordinary defenses are able to contain him. He very much looks like he's on the downside.
