I agree michiganjoe.  One of them had to go.  The guy you owe a bazillion dollars to is the man left standing.  No one is going to trade for Wentz with that contract and I'm sure the team felt he was never going to "get it back" with Peterson as coach.  They fired/retired most of their coordinators anyway.  Why not wipe the slate clean.

Easier to fire a coach than try and trade a prohibitively expensive QB. Wentz won the power struggle, I would expect them to trade Hurts to get some draft capital to rebuild. Pederson will be fine, sounds like he's BFF with the Jets GM and it seems likely he will find a job there. If nothing else he will be back in KC with Andy or in Chicago with Nagy.

Hackett is probably a good option for Philly to get Wentz back on track. He got about as much as you could get out of Blake Bortles a few years ago and Rodgers seems to LOVE him, so I think he could probably get Wentz out of his funk. Honestly they just need to make the offense a little simpler to give Wentz some confidence. If he was in Shannahan/McVay/MLF/Arthur Smith system he could be better than guys like Goff and Tannehill. Unless this WAS Pederson making the offense simpler and he's just a dud, very possible.

after they forced him to pull Hurts so they wouldn't win the game accidentally, yeah, I'd say it's in the best interests of Doug Pederson to get far away from that dysfunctional charade.
may they hire the worst HC ever since you can't fire the owner

I don't think Wentz won any kind of "power struggle" with Pedersen.  But his contract did.  Too expensive to move or sit as backup and they already knew DP couldn't fix him.  So they have to find someone that can because they're stuck with that contract.  Unless Wentz agrees to restructure just to get out of there because he's going to have tons more pressure know in PHI to right himself.

I heard Peterson and Lurie had a bad meeting as Peterson didn't have a satisfactory answer on how to fix the offense (read: Wentz). Apparently Lurie was upset about tank job. Something odd about that whole situation. Who made the call to pull QB, Peterson? What did he have to gain? Draft position over a win?

Let's ask Brent, they were buds.

Yeah that had to be Roseman making that call to yank Hurts. Pretty ridiculous that Pedersen said it was 100% his call then gets terminated.

There is a lot more to this story & I guarantee we find out in the future.

The truth always comes out...just like McCarthy in Packerland.
