Would like to see the Dolphins win or the Browns win.

Would like to see the Redskins win.

Would like to see the Panthers win.

Would like to see the Lions win.

Absolutely need the Packers to win.

Watching Carolina play defense, it is clear how much better they are than the Pack's underachieving group.  It's hard to play D in the NFL these days but they show that it isn't impossible to slow teams down if you've got the right personnel and you play smart and hard.

Why would you like to see the Lions win?

If Nyg and philly win, we still control our own destiny with a loss.

If the jets win, I thought I heard the Steelers would be eliminated by our kickoff

I'm getting really sick of these passing records being broken (or at least threatened) every damn year. Every year, they tweak the rules a little bit more to make it easier for offenses. These records are absolutely meaningless if they're broken constantly. **** Roger Goodell and these offense-happy rules. We'll easily see a 60 passing TD season within the next 3-5 years.

Nope

Top 4 Passing TD seasons

P. Manning 51 (2013. 1 game to play)

Tom Brady 50 (2007)

P. Manning 49 (2004)

Dan Marino 48 (1984)

Marino's in 1984 is the only one that means anything

If Lions win and Bears win tonight and the Packers lose today, the standings would be as follows:

Bears 9-6

Lions 8-7

Packers 7-7-1

If the Lions lose and the Packers lose today, Bears can clinch tonight.

With the Lions winning today, it means they would win the division next week with a win and a Bear loss (assuming Packers lose today).  Would rather the Lions win the division than the Bears.

That's my rationale anyway.

Even though Manning will probably only play a quarter, he'll still probably get to 53 next week against the Raiders. Garbage. Arena football on grass.

Curious as to why Marino's means something and others don't.

That should be pretty obvious. After the illegal contact rule started being enforced more stringently in 2004 (the number of times it was called increased something like 3 fold from where it was in 2003), passing records were being shattered (or at least threatened) on a regular basis. Since then, the rules have only made it even easier every year. Would baseball's home run record have the same meaning if pitchers were suddenly made to throw underhanded?

I knew someone would say something to that effect, but it's kinda beside the point. You expect numbers to be different when guys are able to get away with flagrant juicing (they still do it obviously, but the Barry "look how big my head is" Bonds types are gone), just as you expect them to be different when the rules are changed radically to boost ratings.
