Matt Stafford has already made 178 million dollars in your career. It's hard enough to win once your big-money QB is making around 30 million since you don't have the money to upgrade the other positions in free agency. It's impossible to win if the big-money guy continually screws the pooch.

Poorly veiled Rodgers comment here.

How come Pad Statsford doesn't play like this against the Pack?

He didn't really play THAT well. If Crosby doesn't miss 4 FGs and Rodgers doesn't fumble twice that's a completely different game. There was literally no pressure on Stafford during that game at all. The Lions got up big and coasted.

He's a good enough QB to win games. His career record is 63-69. He's a more physically talented version of a 1980s-type Packer QB.

Obviously, you keep Aaron Rodgers if you have him (just like you keep Russell Wilson, Big Ben, Drew Brees, etc.). With the exception of the Patriots, most other teams win their Super Bowls when there superstar-level QB is on a cheaper contract. Jared Goff has a 7 million dollar cap hit this year. Any team would look better pretty quickly if you could add N. Suh, Talib, and bunch of strong free agents. You can do that if your QB is making 7 million - not when they are making  30 million.

The Lions problem is that they have to pay Matt Stafford like he is as good as Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, when healthy, is good enough to drag a mediocre team to 10-11 wins. Stafford is good enough to get you to 8-9.

Don't we all wish we could play in a division and get to face the Bills and Jets twice per year?

Phil Simms on the Chiefs. “I’ve been waiting for the fall to come on offense but now I know it’s not going to happen”

Chiefs average 9 points per week from here on out. You can’t wash off Simms dumb.

Oh, and the Aints???  were on UW-L campus for a few years taking advantage of our wonderful summer and fall prior to their pre-season.  They were pigs.....just saying.....Mike Ditka was their coach, and the Benson man was alive.  I know first hand.....I worked at UW-L, and I do like Drew Brees.   Hope they kick sheep's arse.
