Beginning his fifth season, Nelson's inexorable march into the upper reaches of his profession has been on display daily at Nitschke Field.

"Wow!" wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett said Tuesday. "This guy just continues to improve. He is an elite receiver."

Nelson's sterling work in the one-on-one Monday night typified his level of performance.

"He has those three 'S' words: size strength and speed," said Bennett. "This guy is a difference-maker.

"You know, it's easy to say something like that. But when you watch the guy work and what he puts into it, then you can see it."

Entering training camp, Nelson was ranked 19th among wide receivers by Pro Football Weekly. His grade was the same as Dallas' Dez Bryant, Atlanta's Julio Jones, Buffalo's Stevie Johnson, Philadelphia's Jeremy Maclin and Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown. continue
Past the click Bob McGinn has a quote from offensive coordinator Tom Clements on Jordy, s look at the 2nd string o-line and a quote from offensive line coach James Campen on what he's stressing to the young guys, and a look at the defensive line with quotes from defensive line coach Mike Trgovac on Phillip Merling, Jarius Wynn, and Lawrence Guy. There's also a note that reveals which coaches will be on the sidelines during games and which ones will be in the coaches box.

In the 2008 draft, Jordy was the 3rd WR taken with Donnie Avery and Devon Thomas preceding him in the 2nd round

For a bust, he's doing pretty well eh ?
Im not sure Ive ever been more wrong about a Packer player.

I thought it was a bad pick, a real reach. Then after his first year of forgettable kick returns while DeSean was lighting it up, I was convinced it was a rare TT brain fart.
2nd year I believe his numbers even went down.

something clicked with this kid during the '10-'11 title run and he hasnt stopped.
the last 3 games of that stretch he had 20+ catches for around 300 yards.

Jordy = packer people personified

I have said it before, what makes Nelson a very tough cover is his size for a slot WR. Most slots are Welkeresque like, Jordy is 6'3", has speed, good hands and can out jump CBs. He's more like a #1 that plays slot, and they move him all over the field.

Thanks TT!

Not sure Jordy plays all that often in the slot.
