Big day of sports....Top stories of the day. Interesting they have to talk about a guys divorce and a gay soccer player. Pretty sure it would be much quicker and easier to talk about non gay soccer players. And a non pole riding...minor league driver Danica

You sure seem quick to notice anything that has something to do with gay people. Wonder why that's so important to you...

Why do you think?

What do you care? You could say the same thing about 95% of the posts here; what is it about what I said that you didn't like?

I just think homophobes are funny, and I get a kick out of poking them with a stick. Most people go through their entire day without ever consciously noticing news stories about gays, but for some reason, the people who say gay issues bother them always seem to see gays hanging from every ceiling. I think it's funnier than hell, myself.

Not that I always care for ESPN but what else are they going to cover?

They don't have the rights to the NHL or the UEFA Champions League, so those are going to get short shrift.

They could cover tennis, but they only care about a few sizzle names who happen to be tennis, not about the sport as a whole.

I'm surprised Goalline is here. I figured he'd be busy celebrating Bayern München's victory.

Congratulations, Goalline.

That's wonderful. The chokers finally won. All those Germans and ya needed a Dutchman to win it. You know, the one ya bashed last year?

Congrats.

Sorry, 'Dave, I couldn't lay off that softball. Big Grin
Perhaps it would've worked better with that smiley in my original post.
Anyway, as others have said, espn sucks.

I've said it before and I know I am being binary (haha - that's for shoeless joe, mainly). But, I am reminded of Ray Scott announcing the Packers - "Starr, Dowler, touchdown."

Sports used to be handled like a guy sitting back in his easy chair having a couple cold ones. Now it's handled like some junkie furiously trying to mainline asap.

Everything is a "great play." All the events are near apocalyptic in their significance.

Just go away.

Wonder if Tiger would've been DQ'd in the same scenario. Probably not.

Without a doubt. He's the most scrutinized player in the PGA.

Didn't watch the match. What did that Frenchie idiot do?

Elbowed one of the Dortmund players in retaliation for blatant holding. Picked up a yellow card for diving in a separate incident.

And if you didn't watch the match, you'd be shocked to know how many chances Robben missed. (Although, to be fair, Weidenfeller was phenomenal in goal.)

And if you didn't watch the Champions League final yesterday, you missed an excellent example of this: Gus Johnson WOULDN'T STOP HIS GODDAMN SCREAMING!
