I have us as first seed, Seahawks second, Niners at New Orleans and Vikings at Philly for wild card round.
7 weeks. 108 games
two possible outcomes for each game.
2^108
320000000000000000000000000000000 possible outcomes...
Itâs gonna take me a while to run through all the possible scenarios...
Here are the combined records on the remaining schedules of the five NFC teams vying for home field:
49ers: 40-25-1
Seahawks: 33-22-1
Vikings: 30-26-1
Saints: 33-31
Packers: 25-30-1

Packers with the most favorable remaining schedule.
"Remember the Chargers". got to approach every week like its a playoff game
ESPN's Football Power Index projects the 49ers and Packers to finish with the top records in the NFC at 12-4. Would beat a first-round bye for each and would make next Sunday's tilt in the Bay for the No. 1 overall seed in conference.

In 2010 the Packers were a 6 seed and won the Super Bowl.
getting a bye is great.... making the playoffs in any way gives you hope
Playoff Picture Today:
1st Seed: New Orleans Saints (Clinched Division) 10-2 (SF, IND, @TEN, @CAR)
2nd Seed: Seattle Seahawks 10-2 (@LAR, @CAR, ARI, SF)
3rd Seed: Green Bay Packers 9-3 (WAS, CHI, @MIN, @DET)
4th Seed: Dallas Cowboys 6-6 (@CHI, LAR, @PHI, WAS)
5th Seed: San Francisco 49ers 10-2 (@NO, ATL, LAR, @SEA)
6th Seed: Minnesota Vikings 8-4 (DET, @LAC, GB, CHI)
In the Hunt: Los Angeles Rams 7-5 (29% chance), Chicago Bears 6-6 (3% chance), Philadelphia Eagles 5-7 (27% chance)
The field is more/less set with the only possibility being the Eagles stealing the NFCE from the Cowgirls. Based on the ESPN Playoff Machine, if everyone wins out their other games, we want SF to win out and take the 1st seed. Again assuming we win out, that would give us the tiebreaker over NO at 13-3 to get the 2nd seed and would guarantee we don't have to travel to SEA. I'm not afraid of GB going to SEA, but that can be a hard stadium to play in. I'd rather get NO or SEA at home in the cold and make sure we don't have to travel until the NFCC. I would LOVE to see MIN and DAL get smashed in the first round by NO and SEA!
I still want us as Number 1 seed. If WE win out, could that happen?

Personally, I'd hate to see GB have to play the NFCC in San Fran. I think they get killed in that game. I'd rather see Seattle win their division ( I really don't think San Fran wins in Seattle, the Hags know exactly how to attack the 9ers and the hags are at home), the 49ers upset as a WC and have another team dispatch them and be rid of 'em (not entirely implausible).
IIRC, the last 4-5 games Russell Wilson has played GB, he's thrown over 10 INT's, has a QB rating in the 70's, and for whatever reason he just hasn't played that well against the Packers. Yes, I know every year is different but I think the Packers can beat Seattle, even in Seattle if need be. IMO, the 49ers are the worst match up vs. GB. I want them as low a seed as possible and exiting early in the playoffs
I concur. I want Seattle IN Green Bay, and I think we take them because they're excellent in spurts but vulnerable.
If we can get the NFL to shorten the game to 55 minutes we beat Seattle easily.
I think we would have a chance against SF in SF. For whatever reason GB just wasnât ready to play that game, but I canât see it happening a second time. SF only has a couple vets on their roster who know how to win in the playoffs, GB has multiple guys who have battled and won in the playoffs, specifically the QB. Not saying Jimmy G canât win in the playoffs, but weâve seen plenty of regular season star QBs just look lost in the playoffs.
Good playoff scenario story
I think I'm going to have to root for the Bears in Week 17 when they play Vikings and I'm already feeling sick about it.
CHI will have Hicks back vs GB and potentially a head of steam coming in if they also beat DAL this week. Pack may have the easiest schedule of the remaining top NFC teams but none of these games look easy for them.
Be much more worried about the Lion game simply because it's in Detroit but doubtful if Stafford will play.
DET was plucky vs. CHI with their 3rd string QB.

The Packers have the easiest schedule of the remaining teams, but winning at MN will be difficult and I donât think the Chicago game will be a cakewalk either.
Assuming they lose to MN and win the rest that puts them at 12-4. At worst a #3 seed but theyâd still have to play a Seattle or SF or Minnesota in the first round versus getting a bye and letting someone else get knocked around week 1 of the playoffs.
The team Iâd least want to face is SF just because they are just so damn talented and Kittle is a matchup problem and Shanahan knows our tendencies. Playing in New Orleans would also be very difficult.
Iâm not as concerned about Seattle because for whatever reason Wilson hasnât played well against the Packers and if he doesnât play well they donât win. New Orleans and SF arenât nearly as one dimensional.
If we get the bye and a home divisional game I'd be OK. Just the thought of most of these teams having to come to Lambeau makes me feel like it's possible.

As I said elsewhere, win the three non-Minnesota games and the Pack win the division on the divisional record tiebreak. (Recall that Minnesohhhhhta already lost @CHI.)
Thanks Whiners! And thanks to the Rams, the Packers are officially in the playoffs.
Packers are now very much in play for the No. 1 seed if they win out.

Almost certainly going to be the #2 or #3 seed. Possibly the #6.
If they win both it's #2. If they lose to MN and beat Det (or vice versa) it's going to be #3.
Lose both and #6.
With this team I am not confident in any predictions.
If Packers lose both & Vikings lose to Bears, that puts both of them at 11-5....who wins tie breaker??
Packers do by virtue of better division record 4-2 vs. 3-3.
If Packers lose either or both of their next 2, they'll be facing Vikings in playoffs.
Is there a scenario where GB loses to MN, wins at DET and still gets the #2 seed based on losses by others?
Believe the Titans would have to beat the Saints.
Or the Panthers beat Saints in Week #17
Just win baby.
How freaking sweet would it be to get SF in Lambeau and return the favor?

I'd rather get Seattle in GB and beat the dog shit out of them.
Just read that Marshawn Lynch may rejoin the Seahawks after the RB injuries. Wonder what kind of shape he's in. At least he should know the system.
Probably in such shitty shape that he wouldn't gain more than 158 yards against this lousy Packers run defense.
He would still be better than an "in shape" Eddie Lacy. So there's that.
Turbin is also talking to the team.
