OR

Bears lose out, Vikings lose 3, Packers win out, Packers win NFC North...

NFL officials continue to suck ass. The two calls in our game and now twice In this cowboys eagles games.  The opening kickoff is fumbled and recovered by Eagles. There were 3 there and NO cowboys but ball still awarded to cowboys after a challenge. Now the eagles punt hits the scoreboard and is supposed to be stopped and replayed but nope.

un-believable.

Number I'm hearing thrown around as far as the Packers' playoff chances go is 4%.

A win and 34 unanswered points. Defense started very poorly and then only gave up two garbage time touchdowns.

Better game but AR and the offense are still off. Pretty clear by now that Jimmy Graham was not a good signing.

+ It's a win
+ They ran the ball in a second half
+ Although it's been inconsistent, I like the young wrs getting some looks. Get that entire unit healthy in 2019 and the sky could be the limit. Minus Cobb.

-He may get away with it, but AR throwing mechanics need to be corrected, as well as securing a consistent pocket for his confidence. Brady, Brees, Ben all step into throws with confidence because they can trust their guys up front. Rodgers will need that more and more as he gets on in age. And it's high time he was afforded such a luxury.

So when did my boyfriend lose his confidence in the WR’s that his mechanics somehow got just horrible???   His injuries?  The WR’s injuries or lack of even just being there? (Nelson).....how has he gone from one of the most accurate passers to just an ok passer???  His clavicle or knee which injury is it that’s changing his delivery, or is it a combination of all that stuff????

Paging anyone who was at the game....was anyone other that Adams ever open?

MVS?   ESB had a couple of early grabs and Cobb looked pretty y good.  In the first half 12 looked to have a little time to throw but after surveying the field he ran.

So, did he decline to throw or was no one open?

Rodgers mechanics being a problem.

Geezus ****.

His mechanics have sucked all year. And it's probably a combination of a bunch of things. Is that something you haven't seen? Is it something you don't think is an issue after beating the lowly Falcons? Pretty common sense if you throw without stepping in your accuracy will suffer. His comp. % is the worst of his career- coincidence?

Finally a convincing win.

Rodgers is the new anti-interception king.

The D has dropped several easy ints this season. Well done by Breeland on his int/td. That was no gimme either.

Clay came to play!

The playcalling on the first drive was a much welcomed change.

Mason was sharp.

They beat a sh!tty team at home, but they lost to an even sh!ttier team at home last week.  I guess that’s progress.

I can understand not overturning Philbin’s second challenge....it was close, but I don’t know how the refs can possibly watch the first challenge and consider that a catch. Horrible call!

Yet again, the best RB on the team starts the game on the bench and ends up with three touches in the first half. He ended up having a solid game and around 20 touches, but a good chunk of that was because they were protecting a big lead which hasn’t happened in awhile.

The OL is a mess so it made sense to start the game with quick throws....and it worked. They got much more predictable after that....AR holding the ball to long, going for homeruns on third and short, sacks, throwing the ball away, etc.

This team quit on MM, which is disappointing.

+ Win

+ Rodgers breaks Brady's INT record. Cool!

+ It's quite clear the Pack have a real defensive coordinator. He needs to stay.

+ Reddit rules. Streaming game from Mexico is excellent! High def too. NFLFU - I'm watching the game for free

+Blake Martinez had 12 tackles today.

- A. Jones rush avg. Went down. Only 4.6 today instead of 6

- Jimmy Graham. At the time of the signing everyone applauded it. He's obviously lost about 3 steps & also his "want to" fighting for a ball is nil. Sucks. All I want for Christmas is George Kittle.

Good overall game, obviously. We'll learn much more about how this team responded to the MM firing next week when they play the Bears in Chicago. The Falcons just wanted to get this game over and have quit. If they look like this against the Bears next week, it will mean a lot more.

Let's beat the Bears next week before we talk about this at all.

+ The D. Thought it was going to be a long day when that first drive cashed in so easily, and then they took the game over. Clark looks like he'll be okay. Clay can play and knows he's fighting for a job. Fackrell was decent and Martinez was better. Alexander is legit. DL seems like they are pressuring faster; not collapsing the pocket consistently, but making Ryan throw a split second quicker than he wanted. It's fun to see one guy, and then another, and then a third step up to make a play. The D is playing with confidence.

-- The O. Who called the plays in the second half? As BDPlant said, the plan seemed to be to throw quick stuff and it worked, but then they veered from the script and started playing sandlot again and it got choppy and ugly. If this keeps happening, I think you have to point the finger at Rodgers.

The Falcons are a bad team so it's hard to celebrate too much, but it's better than griping about another loss.

The paws/negs are a lot more fun when the team plays decently and wins.
A win against a (personal) hated rival. I've never hated the Falcons much as a team, but I detest their fans.

The biggest positive of this game was the plays being called quickly enough to allow plenty of time before the snap.

-
Play calls continue to be puzzling. I guess we will never know if this is from the coach/OC or Aaron changing plays, but it's about as ass-backwards as it can be.
3rd and 1 and a 30 yard pass play is attempted. A 3rd and 21 play is a rush play.

Pass/Rush mix still unbalanced. Just another way of saying the under-utilization of Jones is as puzzling as the play calls. It's hard to argue with the results of the game, but it seems as if there is too much being left on the table.

I agree with this 100%.  The offense had lost all rhythm under McCarthy and defenses were hardly ever on their heels.  It was frustrating to watch.

That second half against Minnesota was where it really got laid bare.  Even before the delay of game, it was like, "What are they doing? Huddle up! Run the play! WTF are they waiting for?  What is wrong with this offense?!?"

When it finally resulted in the delay of game, that was the end of the McCarthy era for me.  Mark Murphy too, I reckon.

Didn't see the game.  Sounds like Philbardi and Rodgers went back to different personnel sets, put in slant calls and actually got the plays in on time.  Whoda****ingthunk the 2011 style offense would be effective?

Sounds like Rodgers is still a little off though.

on the long pass early in the game to Graham near the goalline that Graham couldn't haul in, Cobb was wide open for the first down in the middle of the field, no one anywhere near him.  I remember another time in the 2nd half where Cobb was wide open in the middle of the field for a 1st down too but the ball went to Adams for a good gain anyway.

other than that, I'm guilty of having too much fun (I ain't never had too much fun!) yesterday and wasn't watching very critically.  It was just a nice day for football and everyone was into it.  A complete night/day difference over last weekend.

+++ ARod breaking Brady's No INT record. Breeland just made next year's 53. Philbin calling quick rhythm passes early on. Kenny Clark playing after an elbow issue. Aaron Jones running the ball, at any point, in the game. McCray's nice block downfield allowing a big gainer for Aaron Jones. Playing Moore as returner to get him involved. Philbin throwing the red rag on two early incompletions by Julio Jones that the Refs said were catches. On the first one, the ball was out and on the second, Julio's toes were out of bounds. Davante Adams might have a future in the NFL. Blake Martinez had another nice game. Cobb gets a TD! Claymaker had a good game. That sack on Ryan was really nice.

---ARod's passing accuracy was off most of the game. Jimmy Graham. Porous  O-Line allowing all those sacks. Where's Don Barclay when we need him? --Sorry! Poor officiating, once again! Da Bears win. ESB vanished from the game after two throws his way early. Jaire celebrating an incompletion he was totally beat on. Love the kid's motor and attitude, though!

+ the win of course. Clay playing very good esp with pressure and run defense. Alexander and Breeland look like real NFL corners. Makeshift lines held up ok. Mason making a difficult FG. Faster pace on offense for a good part of the game. The team rallied to Rodgers when he was hit on his slide.

- a drop in position on draft day. Going back to some of the old bad habits on offense. The refs missing key calls on the first Atl drive.
