Hey all,

I just graduated from college in NC last spring, and am looking to make my first trip up to Green Bay this December. I'm trying to catch the Sunday night game vs. the Lions on 12/9, then hang around to attend Aaron Rodgers Day on 12/12. Given my lack of experience and funds, I am eager for some input on how best to go about this. I am doing my own research, but am also very interested and hopeful to hear if there are better/cheaper ways to score tickets and a place to stay than going through Ticketmaster and buying a hotel room. If anybody has any other useful advice, that would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

The day the schedule comes out is the best time to book a hotel room.

Good luck finding one now. They're available but you will have to do some leg work

Tickets should be easy. You can wait for gameday and fight with the scalpers or just use Ticketmaster/Stubhub to see what the going rate is.

Not that difficult, you just need to work at it.

Dan,

I, too, am making my first Packer game along with my son this year although we've been to the Packer Hall of Fame and I've been a Packer fan all of my 60 years. I called the Packers office months ago for guidance, and was told the ONLY places they recommend that fans buy tickets to avoid getting scammed were 1. Packer Fan Tours and 2. Ticketmaster. I was going to go that route but got lucky as I have family in Madison and some friends of my younger brother had season tix and were will to part with 2 of them to help us out. Even then, we paid more than face value, so count on spending $100 to $400 per ticket; I don't see any way around that.

I'm sure housing near Lambeau is very hard if not impossible even though it's only August, but check around. My solution would be to stay further away (Milwaukee, Madison?) and just plan on driving a rental car early on game day to Green Bay.

There is one guy on the board here who sometimes has tickets he's willing to sell, but I don't recall his name, nor do I know how much the tix go for.
Also, supposedly you can always get a ticket on game day from a scalper, but I wasn't going to buy airfare from Idaho and risk not getting in to the game when this is probably a once in a lifetime experience for us. That may be the only way you might get a ticket for face value or less, though, unless someone from this board can hook you up.

We just got our (first) tix this week in the mail, and my son and I are really excited! Good luck to you, Dan!
