Been a fan since the days of Brockington, and am looking forward to my first trip to Lambeau this weekend...motivated primarily by my daughter who has been asking me to take her for two years now.  Naturally, I am disappointed (and she is in tears) about not seeing Rodgers play, but I am still looking forward to being part of the Packers game day experience.  Thanks to advice offered by many here to a previous post, I am staying in Appleton Saturday night.  I guess I am asking the Lambeau/Green Bay veterans what I should include as "must do/see" during my trip.  Obviously will hit the Packer Hall of Fame and Pro Shop, but what other activities or sights would you recommend.  Also, how much time should I budget for the drive from Appleton to Lambeau on Sunday?

Am hoping that this is one of times when a team circles the wagons and everyone plays that much harder to pull out a win this weekend.  Am worried a bit about the big bodies like Pickett, Raji and Jolly getting worn down by the pace of the Eagles offense.  I hope the Pack offense takes a page from what Stanford did to Chip Kelly's old team last night and runs the crap out of the ball and dominates time of possession.

How long will you be staying there?

Kroll's is a must, don't try to go before or after the game though. Titletown Brewing Co. is a good restaurant. Like FS said, the HOF, stadium tour, and the pro shop are good ones for Saturday. Make sure you get your stadium tour tickets ahead of time because they sell out really fast, like for the whole day. We usually hit up some of the other stores for Packers gear...the ProShop is really expensive. We usually hit up KMart, Shopko, Kohls, Jersey Store, and some smaller stores in the mall.

For a noon game (even though it's a Milw season tix game) traffic can get backed up and be stop and slow crawl for the last 10-15 miles in even at 10:00 A.M. So, if were me I'd head out from Appleton at least by 9:00 A.M.

Then you should get parking closer in, and not be rushed/panicked to get there. Also you'd have time to tailgate a bit, albeit in your case probably without grilling out. But you could get/make some sandwiches and bring some snacks and some drinks and enjoy the pregame festivities. And would not be inclined to pay for the way overpriced food inside the stadium.

I always take the Ashland ave exit in, go up to Potts and take a left, drive up aways and pay to park at one of the places on the left side (easier getting out due to the 1 way traffic after the game). There's a place with porta potties, a big trucking place with a large lot I use. From there maybe a 6 block walk in. Dont know your daughters age but the walk that way also takes you past Stadium View, the Bar and Andruzzi's. All places to enjoy some pregame stuff if you dont want to tailgate. I prefer Stadium View the best of the 3 for before or after, but they will all be packed with lots of noise from bands/music.

Have a great time.

We're flying into Chicago (flights were really cheap from Rochester and flight times were good) and driving up from there.  Will likely be in Green Bay or Appleton by 5:00 pm.  Just staying in Appleton one night...will stay somewhere between GB and Chicago Sunday night to be closer to O'hare.

Do the other shops you mentioned carry a pretty wide selection of Packer gear?

Have a great time.

My daughter is 17, so this was my last chance to bring her to a game before she heads to college (she is considering UW).  Thanks so much for the tips.

Just curious as to others on this board who might be at the game?

Didn't someone create a webpage on this? Krolls on game day is a limited menu. Better food inside the stadium, especially the Food Network stands - sausage turducken with mac and cheese on top.

I like the Leinie's Lodge in the Atrium, check out the live radio show with Vic and Tauscher.

Definitely walk around a bunch. My brother likes to get their early and watch the warmups, even though he sits in the 300s.

Consider a seat cushion, especially if you are in an aisle seat.

Milwaukee game, 41 north will be brutal.

Dress warm. It's gonna be a bit nippy. Make sure your daughter dresses appropriately. Girls that age often (always) are more concerned with looks than practicality. It's supposed to be windy on Sunday. It's no fun being underdressed and freezing by halftime. Bring a blanket if you have one. Even if it's sunny there are many seats on the south end that will be in shade all day.

Been three times and every experience was great. Monday nighter 18 degrees against Miami, beautiful fall day against the Bucs, and a rainy Sunday afternoon against the bucs.

As other said do Krolls and the stadium tour. Also enjoyed Titletown brewery and some restaurant I can't remember the name of where you grilled your own steaks. The  night we were there Favres family was there inluding Bretts Dad, Mom and wife.

Is FAvre Steakhouse still open? Figured it would be out of business by now or burned down.

Enjoy the ambiance. Park in someones yard close to the stadium and they will probably offer you a hotdog or bratz. People there are the best. Food at Curlys Pub is not too bad either.

What section are your tickets in?  If you are in the new south endzone, you won't need to rent chair seat-backs as they already have them.

I personally like to get inside the stadium early to avoid any delays with security. I also try to get into my seat early to watch warmups and to "claim" my seat from any ample-bodied bench neighbors.

Double-check the Packers website about what you can and cannot bring into the game.

If you are not a drinker, you can sign up for the designated driver program and get a free non-alcoholic drink.  Kohl's department store offers free sign-making stations with colored markers if you want to try to get on TV with your own sign.

After the Packers victory (and they WILL win), there is always postgame tailgating for the folks who aren't in a hurry to leave.

Try and keep the things you need to see to a short list and follow the suggestions to get some of those done on Saturday.

Get to Lambeau early on Sunday and soak it all in. Get off campus and see the neighborhood. Say hello to some tailgaters. They'll welcome you. Get over to The Jersey Store. Get into the stadium a little early and walk all the way around it.

It's easy to get overwhelmed on your first visit to NFL history. Keep it simple and have a great time.
