Giants, Cardinals 49ers, Seahawks and Cardinals again.  I can't deal with the heartbreak.  Four are with McCarthy.  This has to be unprecedented.

We lost the coin flip the last  two years and lost both games.

McCarthy 3-5 in the playoffs (since the SB season in '10)  and every loss seems worse than the one before.

I still support the coach.

Really?? great, can't wait until all the talking heads start in with this stuff.  Ugh.....and D*mn the Packers COULD, SHOULD have won this game.  I'm sick.

Add in the Terrell Owens catch/Jerry Rice non-fumble game and the Denver-GB Super Bowl.

The other way to look at it is that we've made the playoffs 18 times in the last 22 years. You are going to lose some tough games if you have 18 playoff chances in that time frame.

We watch sports for many reasons. One is that it gives us some excitement relative to much of the rest of our lives which is often monotonous. Another is that it allows us to have something to share with our family members. I call my Dad during games all the time. It sucked we lost, but we'll be talking about this game for the rest of the lives. Win or Lose, that is still pretty cool.

The part about calling your dad.....I text 7 other people during the games, when I watch and it IS about feeling the same things during them all.  We're fans....we're PACKER fans, the best fans.  *bawling*  just hate to AGAIN have to wait until next year.  But......then again, can't wait for next year.  I love you Packer fans.  *hugs*

5 OT losses is a terrible stat, but that's all it really is. I don't know that it indicates a particular trend; it's not like the Packers plan to lose these games. They've had opportunities to win any of them (or at least force a stop defensively ), but the (lack of) play execution doomed them.

I have tried hard not to let losses seep into my life. Packers is for fun and for the most part for me, it is. Back in college, a loss would ruin 1/2 of my week until I gave myself the rest of gameday to bellyache and get over it. I have kids now and I really try to celebrate the victories and quietly mourn the losses without letting it affect my actions. Last night for me was way more palatable than last years NFCCCG. This year only one loss was difficult and that was the Lions at home because they giftwrapped a win for us and we could not find a way to take advantage.

As difficult as this year has been, the Packers were playing best when it mattered most, despite obvious issues, and the team as a whole showed a ton of grit. Still trending up in my opinion.

People forget, if you don't win the Super Bowl, your season ends in a loss.  Happens to 11 teams in the playoffs every year.

And remember....last time we lost a playoff OT heartbreaker in Arizona, we won the Super Bowl the next year.  I'm really looking forward to 2016.

This just magnifies the Packers Red Zone problems.  Far too many times we've had 1st and goal and had to settle for a FG.  No wonder Crosby has made so many FGs without a miss in the playoffs. They are all short FGs.  MM needs new plays when it's 1st and goal.

Short FGs or not, Crosby has hit more pressure kicks in the playoffs than almost any kicker short of Adam Vinatieri. Think about last night, that XP after the Hail Mary was a mega-pressure kick and it's a 33 harder now.

He's 49/49 for extra points in the post season and 23 for 25 on field goals.

His two misses are

1. A 54 harder at the of the first half in the Cardinals/Packers playoff game in 2009

2. A 50 yard field goal in the 2010 Atlanta playoff game when the Packers were ahead 42-21 in the 4th quarter. If you have to pick a FG to miss ever, this would be it.

His game against Seattle in the NFCC last year was one of the best games by a kicker in NFL playoff history. Yes, he made three short FGs, but he also made two 48 yard FGs in the 4th quarter, one of which put the game into OT with about 10 seconds left in the 4th quarter.

My intent was not to criticize Crosby, I think he is a great kicker and should have made the Pro Bowl.  I was trying to point out the shortcomings of the Packers red Zone offense which has been offensive for the past few seasons.  MM needs to bring in a Red Zone  only specialist OC.

Disagree.

It says something about the team's ability to finish and/or handle OT under MM and DC on the defensive side.

Based on that history, MM needs to avoid OT whenever possible IMO. Sometimes the other team forces OT and you don't have a choice. But last night, AR and the offense we pumped up and had all the momentum.

Even if you win the toss, why force yourself to score from your own 15 or 20 yard line after an kickoff when you can win the game by scoring from the opponents 2 yard line?

Only 4 since 2007.

We have 5 OT Playoffs losses since 2003

Eagles '03, Giants '07, Cardinals '09, Seahawks '14, and Cardinals '15.

In the '13 San Fran game the Packers lost on an end of regulation field goal.  I was at that game.  It was quite deflating.

I think the stat that really hurts is that MM has an 8-7 Playoffs record, and 5 of those losses were on the last play of the game.

I support MM and this team.  Next season we have a favorable schedule, Nelson back, and an up-and-coming receiving core with Janis likely to get more playing time.

Home Opponents:

Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks

Away Opponents:

Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans

12-4

I stand corrected, the 23-20 loss to the 49ers in 2014 (2013 season) was NOT in overtime.  I was told this game was OT, on the phone by a distraught Packer fan who is NEVER wrong.  SO it's a mere four OT losses in nine years...lol.
