The NFL fined five players a combined $73,500 from the Detroit Lions' 40-10 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, Justin Rogers of Mlive reports.
The biggest payroll deduction was assessed to Packers cornerback Tramon Williams for shoving an official after a Joique Bell touchdown run in the fourth quarter. In addition to the $26,250 fine, Williams was also hit with a 15-yard penalty on the play.
The punishment was in line with the $25,000 fine Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew received in 2011 for knocking away the arm of an official during a game against the New Orleans Saints.
Three Detroit players were assessed fines from the game, led by linebacker DeAndre Levy for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Packers tight end Ryan Taylor. Levy was docked $15,750 for the play.
Lions safety Glover Quin and wide receiver Kris Durham were each fined $7,875.
Quin's fine was for a late hit on Jordy Nelson as the wide receiver ran out of bounds. Durham was punished for grabbing Williams' face mask while trying to tackle the cornerback after an interception.
The final fine went to Packers linebacker Clay Matthews for a punishing hit on running back Joique Bell on a pass play in the middle of the field. Matthews was fined $15,750 for leading with the crown of his helmet.
