It's a legit discussion based on the history. One of the worst BPs in MLB was overhauled, and very much like last year, they're giving games away again. Sure it's early, but last year we "waited" and watched them blow 30+ games. It cost them a winnable division and another post season.

How long until its ok to say that Melvin has failed with this overhaul? I understand the perspective that you cannot pull the plug this early, but so far they helped the team win 1 game- the opener. They failed to do their job in all 7 other games, either blowing the lead or throwing gas on a close game and making it a joke. With a decimated lineup and a defense having several players out of position, they need the P staff to keep it close. All the BP has done so far is make winnable games losses and bad games worse.

A statement needs to be made- Axford threw 2 strikes last night- one was blasted for a double, the other a called strike. DFA him and tell him to go down and get right before he blows any more games wide open and buries this season in failure like he did last season.
This same garbage happened last season and RR waited too long to address the closer situation. At least they got Ax out of there early, however I have no idea why they let him pitch in the 8th inning last night. I understand the wanting to instill confidence in Ax and all, but we've seen this dance before. There comes a time where the effort doesn't equate to any benefit. How long does RR wait to put him back in the closers role? If he continues to melt down at that point, then what???

I agree with Music...send him down and see if he can't work it out in the Minor's. Working it out with the big club and losing games in the process does nothing for the team as a whole. If Ax refuses to go to the Minor's...let him be somebody elses problem.
